Foo Fighters (briefly) Want Some Too

Saw them in 2007 open for The Police at Dodger Stadium. They played at dusk which was kinda cool. Fucking great band. Foo Fighters are better than Nirvana ever was or ever woulda been.


The Police still kicked everyones ass. Wouldn't have it any other way in Los Angeles, CA.

Saw The Police at Jones beach on the same tour.....incredible. They were getting rediculously better and better and then the tour ended. Sting solo absolutely blows.....but the Police.....that was a band.

I saw the Ghost in the Machine and the Synchronicity tours. A friend of mine works for a company that cleans up industrial waste sites. He managed to get a backstage pass when The Police did their reunion tour. He got in a conversation with Andy Summers about cleaning up waste which he said Andy was actually interested in. He got to meet Stewart Copeland who he said was very cool as well. He said Sting was off to himself not being particularly friendly. Sting solo did blow. Miles Copeland even admitted Sting got caught up with the artsy fartsy crowd and ruined his own career. That's why you haven't heard a song from Sting on the radio for a long time.

I remember wanting to see the Synchronicity and 1984 tours so badly....was only 11-12 at the time. Then, before I knew it, both groups were gone.

rwc, I was there, too. About 50 yards behind you I would guess. Even had my VH shirt on. Very cool to get some VH at the Foos show.

By the way, for the uninitiated, that was Taylor (drummer) on vocals.

Yes, they later brought out Joan Jett (who had the 5:15-6:15 set before most of us got there) to do "Bad Reputation". Great show.

Pearl Jam rocked it pretty hard the next night, too. Grbranton, they did do about 6 songs off of Ten. Pretty much all the hits, except for Daughter. Closed with their best cover tune - Rockin' in the Free World, as they ran past curfew.

Hey everyone...

Dave here. Just wanted to write and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for another incredible year. (Our 18th, to be exact!) We truly never could have done any of this without you...

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Foo Fighters would make it this far. I never thought we COULD make it this far, to be honest. There were times when I didn't think the band would survive. There were times when I wanted to give up. But... I can't give up this band. And I never will. Because it's not just a band to me. It's my life. It's my family. It's my world.

Yes... I was serious. I'm not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it's a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It's one of the reasons we're still here. Make sense? I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it's good to just... put it back in the garage for a while...

But, no gold watches or vacations just yet... I'll be focusing all of my energy on finishing up my Sound City documentary film and album for worldwide release in the very near future. A year in the making, it could be the biggest, most important project I've ever worked on. Get ready...it's coming.

Me, Taylor, Nate, Pat, Chris, and Rami... I'm sure we'll all see you out there... somewhere...

Dave has done this before tho hasn't he , he kinda puts it on hold has a while off drums for the qotsa or somebody then goes fuck it writes some songs realises he needs a bass player rings Nate , hey ho new foo album .
