        It's clearly all Iommi...

Anyways... Dave is back in the band.... there is no need to boycott this album anymore or keep hating on Eddie or Gary....
I will always hate on Sammy though.... and it's really not just a Dave issue... I literally wanna vomit every time I Sammy Hagar's voice.
I'm with you on most of that.

I did like Sam with Van Halen doing that country(ish) tune, Finish What Ya Started. A good song is a good song and that one is...even though it is country.

I simply cannot let this this stand. For starters, Ed wrote a lot of great songs from 86-96. Unfortunately Dave was not in the band during that time and Haggar's caterwauling ruined the lot - including Finish What Ya Started. Secondly, Finish What Ya Started may be one of the worst offenses and crimes against humanity when it comes to Haggar's 'singing.' As catchy as the riff is, Haggar's smug attempt at being Dave (trying to sing cool) does not translate.
My karma just ran over your dogma.

He played on some guy named Rich Wyman's album also. It was in the old Inside mag.

Well, Ed was damn happy with Sam during that time and acted like he and Sam were rweally tight and tickled about their entire situation (perhaps in an attempt to rub in the success at Dave?). Ed may have wrote a few good songs during that era but "a lot of great songs"? That's pushing it - the great songs are on the 6 pack.

Don't deny the truth - there were no riffs that would make it on Fair Warning or even 1984 and Ed had his keyboards and vocalist to write 'love songs'.

I don't know if this counts but I bought this 2 live crew album back in 1989 and it had this famous Van Halen sample!

The song uses an uncredited sample of Van Halen's "Jamie's Cryin'". Van Halen's management at the time asked for a flat fee (credited in some reports to be US$5,000) as payment to have the song sampled by Tone Lōc. Apparently, this decision was taken without consulting the band's original members (credited as co-authors of the song), who in turn did not expect Wild Thing to become the major hit it became. A subsequent civil lawsuit was settled out of court, with the band receiving US$180,000 as settlement payment. Alex Van Halen has gone on record saying that he had heard the song over the radio halfway and not realizing it had been sampled until he recognized his (by now famous) tom-tom break at least a few times. Concerning the settlement, he said: "Well, at least we got something. Tone Lōc and his people made millions out of it..."

We are gettin' thin on obscure Van Halen stuff...

Is it just me or is this the standout track on Strummin with the devil?
