Yeah it's really not doing it for me.

It's funny because for more than 20 years I've been arguing with people where we can agree about almost every other band apart from Kiss.

I think it's one of those things whereby you had to be there at the time and invest in the whole thing because sitting back listening to the music in retrospect without that they don't seem like much at all.

I never really listened to them until the mid 80s and when I then went back and listened to their older stuff it was already dated to me.

KISS is timeless. I bought the Destroyer album when I was in grade school. Of course at that age the makeup and the big show was very cool. Years later in 2012 I listened to that album again and I still saw it as fucking brilliant. Paul Stanley was dead on when he said all the flash of KISS would be in vain if the songs weren't good. KISS really did have good interesting songs. Unique songs. I was watching The Voice last night and had to turn it off. Christina Agulera opened the show. She was on a big stage with a lot of flash (KISS invented that) and the dancers. The problem was the song was not unique. It could be any number of female singers. Nothing stood out as being good or unique and that is why it failed. You have to have more than just a big stage, lights, dancers and that. The songs are the foundation and KISS got that.
