For me HAIL was highlight as a band. I loved hearing it.
For vocals I think Dave sings the heck out of DOA, that would be a deep cut

My 2 biggest complaints of the 2012 Tour:

      1) Dave's forced higher register. Still makes no sense why he would do this. We don't expect Dave to sound like Pavarotti at age 58, so why does he even attempt this shit? Keep it in the low register and everyone will be happy. I heard some renditions of "Dance the Night Away" on this tour that were absolutely cringeworthy and that's one of biggest fan favorites. Not good to butcher that tune.

      2) The "blower rants". I realize Dave probably had legitimate complaints about these fucking blowers, but I thought he lost his cool when he stopped in the middle of songs to berate the HVAC guys working at the arenas. To me, Dave always used to have enough class to at least finish a song before going off into a rant, but on this tour he just became a grumpy old fuck who thinks the whole world cares deeply about what pisses him off. Kinda took Dave down a few notches on the coolness meter for me. The only "blowers" I wanna hear about from Dave in the future are the kind with 2 long legs and a nice pair of tits waiting backstage!

Dave should go back and listen to his Jamie's Crying bluegrass, his singing is spot on.

Didn't Ed allude to a surprise in February that he couldn't talk about? Super bowl's been ruled out. Maybe another blast of tunes is on it's way.

ADKOT was a major letdown on so many levels.

For one, the album was done for the money rather than the benefit of the hardcore fans. VH, even with Roth broke no new ground and instead kept their formula simple and boring. Some, just some of Eddie's solo's here are his best of all time but unfortunately they go nowhere; Roth's vocals are horrible - grounded and dated; the guy could benefit from some singing lessons. On the whole, it's one fuck of a boring listen with inane lyrics and repetitive riffs. It wasn't a comeback unless of course you count ADKOT as a major failure of 2012.

            Which it was.

LOL --- "inane lyrics" --- ADKOT had some of Dave's coolest philosophical thoughts on display.

You are definitely one of the most clueless cunts I've seen around here.

                Thats crap criticism of ADKOT.
Lyrically it is a tour de force for Dave and I feel his strongest work lyrically.
I'm not sure if anyone even Sammy fans could deny that is the best Ed has played in DECADES.
Too safe, maybe fair but nothing safe about promoting it with a bonus acoustic DVD that is hella raw. That took guts to do and kinda didn't work but wasn't safe.

If ADKOT was done for the money, we would have been served up the likes of Jump part II. This band knowingly wields the potential to be as just as much of a cash cow band as (insert classic rock band name here) and still, they don't do it. I, for one, want them to sell out. Take my money! It's got your name on it! Just keep putting stuff out!

The lead in to the second chorus is pretty cool

                          Fuck you, trailer boy...

"Yesterday I was a bum and broke today I am a star and broke.."

                          Wow. Deep.

"Listen to a sea shell you can hear the sea"

                          Wow. Such intellect!

"When you turn on your stereo does it return the favor? I gotta know!

Yeah, what's the philosophy of Kant or Schopenhauer when compared to that!?!?!

Well tell me than what label Van Halen was signed to when it came to ADKOT? Even Warner Brothers dropped their ass knowing that Roth and Eddie were outof ideas and instead rehashed their 70's drek? Face it, the album was a major let down. Hardcore fans deserved better!!!

C'mon Kristy. You know Dave doesn't set out to be deep or preachy. He simply comes off as ions smarter than the likes of Hagar because, well, he is.

There are far better lines on the CD than the ones you chose.

What do you think about Blood And Fire?

ADKOT had its moments but they were too far and in between to be an enjoyable listen as a whole. I mean, ADKOT sounded like Van Halen Classic but it wasn't. I'm not sure if it is Anthony's absence but the magic just isn't there. We'll see if they release anything in 2013 that is fresh before I write them off for good.
