It's sounds almost blasphemous to say --- but "5150" is the one Van Haggis song I'd like to hear played live with Dave.

The guitar work alone would be worth it --- plus hearing Dave's "embellishments" on the tune.

Yep - strip out the vocals and I like it. Or just strip out Slappy and leave Mikey's parts in.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

Surprisingly, McHaggis wrote good lyrics for "5150" --- probably because he wasn't thinking like a horny 8th grader about his wife's pussy when he wrote it.

I love that uptempo part at the end of the solo when it's played live.

Without a doubt that was one of the songs in the working for the next proper VH album.. I would love to hear what Dave would have done with the 3 or 4 songs on that album that actually rock musically.

Lyrics - or because someone else re-wrote his drunk ramblings and being that drunk he likely thinks those are really his words.

After seeing that pos jump around in the begining of that clip how the hell does anyone who bought that shite rip Dave's dancing.

Musically that is a decent song if it had a darker edge vocally.

Methinks this might be one of the more apparent contributions of Mick Jones to the album...

Me too. The one and only VHgar tune in my I-pod. My only problem with the song is the rhythm guitar during the solo is way too loud, kinda like Blood & Fire. I actually think the singer did alright on that one, too.

I was speaking solely in terms of the over doing it singing style. For all I know, Bolton's not a dick. Just cheese wiz dispenser. He let Gary Shandlings Larry Sanders work him over pretty good. He also spoofed himself on SNL pretty good.

5150 was a bust for me by the time I listened to the first song and realized Dave was the whole reason I liked VH. No raspy voice, no sexual innuendo.....what was the point?

                        Oh dear.

Kinda like when Dave went Vegas cornball with the Mamboslammers and a show not low on cheese. Or when we got us some country Dave when he headed down to Nashville to jump (sorry) on the coattails of that Strummin With the Devil Charlie Foxtrot. He started doing interviews down there and talking about how when "shit happens, we write songs about it". All the while employing a fey country bumkin accent. Then goes on Leno and anyone else who'd have him to perform that tripe while the world wondered what happened to him. The Boston Pops trainwreck was also part of the "Lost at Sea Dave" where he floated around aimlessly, his head bobbing up and down, up and down. Well he finally came to his senses about leaving, was able to get back in but father time had his way with him and his throat. Each night he vented his anger about this on poor unsuspecting "Dance the Night Away".
