With DLR gloriously running his mouth off about every subject under the sun (including VH!), I have to wonder how in the hell he was able to keep his trap shut for the "5 years of silence" - and if that prolonged muzzling of rock's greatest mouth was Azoff's idea.

I'm starting to wonder if the total silence from Dave from July 2008 to November 2011 was part of a paid contract clause dreamed up by Azoff and EVH? "We'll pay you to keep your mouth shut and just disappear until the new record comes out."

Seems like the only plausible explanation since DLR has NEVER been that quiet for that long a stretch. What he's doing now with all the radio interviews is his normal modus operandi. He loves to talk to anyone about anything. What happened between 7/2008 to 11/2011 is bizarre and way out of character for him.
