Hagar Now Competing with Van Halen Over Fans

Why is Hagar’s CD coming out to compete with Van Halen’s new CD set. Has the peroxide eaten my brain? This is crazy.

What does Warner Music Group say about this? I am told that WMG is already really pissed off at CCE for allowing all the audio and video piracy of every major Van Halen concert to-date. I was told that CCE was allowing it in order to hopefully sell more concert tickets, and help justify Van Halen being the highest priced hard rock act on tour.

Does anyone know what is going on here? This to me is very strange. Thanks

PS: Maybe “The Essential Red Collection” is like a tribute album to the sea of red ink flowing from the 2004 Van Halen Tour for Clear Channel Entertainment?.

It's probobly because Sammy doesn't give a shit..this makes it more clear that this tour is just a one off and Hagar will resume his solo career after this....I am sure him and his manager looked at this tour as an opportunity to make some great money, promote the vh package which was coming out whether VH toured or not...and to bring more interest to hagar's solo career...I am sure after getting burned the first time Sammy is strictly out for himself this time around. Heck someone that bought one of those ripoff soundcheck packages claims Sammy flies into every show seperate from the band....this tour is all business to the parties involved and not the lame "lovefest" they are trying to advertise.

Name me one band’s management company that has allowed their lead singer to release his own album and cannibalize the market of the band’s newly released album to support their in progress National Tour, that is paying the lead singers salary.

Sam releasing a solo greatest hits albums, etc.. Wasn't that part of what caused the fracture back in the mid 90's??? When they took on Ed Leffler, Sam's solo manager, is when the anti-Dave campaign took on a life of it's own. To this day, those myths and total bs propositions are still being floated as the reason the Original lineup can't get back together. Now, with Sam's new undead manager firmly in place, they are playing only 4 classic vh songs and it's the ole' love-fest bs all over again?? Because he loves to play? BS. He needs the money. He has an expensive lifestyle. Don't buy into the 20 year old love-fest bs. This tour is all about Money and it's Sam Hagar driving it. All his crap about "I would've never toured with Dave if I knew this was going to happen."... What a lying sack of shit. He has been jonsing for this for a long time. Sammy is no longer associated with the label that is releasing this compilation. He did have input as to what tracks would appear but he has no control over when it is released it's totally up to the record company. From a marketing stand point "of course" they would release it now why wouldn't they when the tour with Sammy is free publicity for this solo best of release.
