Sambo was there too, of coarse I had split by that time. Anyhows, the last time I saw Van Halen, the real Van Halen (1984) they sold out my local coliseum twice in the same month. Where are all the sold out shows everyone said would happen? Hell they started the tour in Greensboro with tarps in the upper deck. How pathetic. Aerosmith and Kiss own Van Hagar. Hell, Jessica Simpsons sister owns Van Hagar

Judas Priest-Screaming for vengence out, not yet huge, that would be 1984
Scorpions-another couple of years to superstardom
        Triumph-NEVER huge
Quiet Riot-had Metal Health out, riding the wave, NEVER GOT HUGE 'cause that was it for them!
Crue-? No way, just getting started

THIS WAS A VAN FUCKING HALEN CONCERT! when the national media got pissed about the "swearing" live on the radio, WHO DID THEY POINT THE FINGER AT? Ozzy? The Crue? NO! VAN FUCKING HALEN, and specificly DAVID LEE ROTH!!!
Save the revisionist history Bro! Remeber, since YOU WHERE THERE, the previous year THERE WAS NO HEAVY METAL DAY!

          Guess again.
          Who else got $1.5 million?

They were the HEADLINE act of the heavy metal day.

Dude, you're a total fucking dipshit. Firstly it was 1983, not '82 moron. Ozzy not huge yet? He had just sold 6 million copies of Blizzard Of Ozz
and Diary Of A Madman and had two sold out tours under his belt.Plus he was already a star being he WAS THE SINGER FOR SABBATH, an already established legendary band at that point.

The Scorpions were red fucking hot after the Blackout album. Yes they did get commercially more popular but I'm talking heavy metal status here dough boy. Screaming For Vengeance was JP's most succesful album at that point. They didn't get that much bigger after that.

As for Triumph I said at the top of their game. NOT HUGE. Take a reading comprehension class genius.

As for Quiet Riot never being huge that statement obviously proves you weren't around back then. Plus try reading a little more carefully, I said there was LOCAL BUZZ about QR & MC and that brought ALOT of people there early.

            Nice try loser.

David Bowie got paid $1.5 million for New Wave day. How many people did that draw? Van Halen does not get the credit for the 350,000.00 people that came that day. Heavy Metal/Hard Rock gets the credit.

Fucking Rothtards, can't comprehend simple fucking logic. DLR's done a great job twisting you all around his finger. Fucking losers.

We aren't talking about New Wave Day. Did you go to New Wave Day?

No wonder you're a Van Hagar fan.

Don't get your undies in a bunch dude.

None of those acts were the head line act though. VH was.

Scorpions, I wouldnt go as far to say red hot, but very good. Blackout wasnt the album that put them over the top, so I'll half agree with that statement.

Triumph, Im a big fan, so top of their game is right.

Quiet Riot, big then, but only then. They died as quick as they ascended.

Maybe not a "Van Halen" concert, but they did headline it, and were paid like kings. Bout as close as it gets.

Youre at a Roth site, why? DLR must have done something at some point to get you to register here. And hell, you've been banned, and wanted back in. Chill a little, it's all good.

They need a few more of these if they want to get that
                  average up to 8000.

Im glad you find 15,000 a large crowd. We consider our
local football games poorly attended if less than 20,000
is there. And this is meant to be some kind of supergroup
                  reunion ??

Buts its ok, we will add up all the ticket sales at the end
and divide it by the number of concerts. Then see.
Personally if its anything less than 15,000 WHAT A FUCKNG
                  JOKE !

If its less than 10,000. Major BOMB !!
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
                  Love ya Mary Frances!

You have to account for the size of the arena also. Pretty sure it only had some nosebleed seats and behind the stage empty in St. Paul.

In most fans of this version of VH opinion, it won't fail.

But the attendance and the fact they are doing so many 2 for 1's and cutting ticket prices is not the signs of tour success.

In my opinion, way too early to be cutting ticket prices and throwing in free food.

I have just spent the better part of five minutes reading

through this thread, and I can't believe I just wasted that

                            much of my life.

#1. Van Halen with DLR were begged to do stadiums, Dave

said no because it rips off the fans.

#2. Van Hagar toured stadiums for the 5150 album,

and for example in Toronto, despite having three very

popular opening bands, only managed 24,000 in a

STADIUM that ELO played to 72,000 in.

                            Yawn.

Oh yeah your fucking lucky I'm drained and off to bed sheep!

                            See ya tomorrow!!!!

I'm going to the concert on Sun. but I know it won't compare to the sam and dave show a few years ago, that had everything but eddie's solo.
