    DLR Band CD

is Roth's CD, DLR Band (from 1998). I have every single CD he ever put out, except that one because it's out-of-print. Is it worth ordering off of Amazon.com or eBay?

If you like rough sounding demo recordings then this is the CD for you.

The album is pretty well written, but the production values are pretty spotty. Some songs are mixed well (not great), some ok, and a few are just downright terrible sounding. But I think Wawazat!, Goin' Places and Black Sand are great tunes. Fourteen songs, I would say ten are good, with three or four of those being really good. Few stinkers, but what album doesn't.

      Worth the ten bucks.

Most definitely worth it. Some great tunes on there that I wish more people would hear.
              Same ole song and dance...

It's totally worth it, and the sound is very good...

                  Sorry Dave's dradle.

                    DLR BAND

This album is a strong record. Is it EEASmile or ALAEnough, in my opinion no. But it is better (my opinion) than Skyscraper. The production is not great (Ray's kick drums are barely audible on the record) but the songs are for the most part quite good. My favorite song is "Loose The Dress". It was a return to testosterone driven rock for Dave after 94's YFLMouth. Definitely worth picking up.
                    DLR/VH IS JUST BETTER

Ignore the couple of idiot Hagar fans in this thread.

The DLRBand album is generally accepted to be one of Daves best.

The production could be better and at a couple of points Daves voice could be too, but basically this is a superb album with some real classics.

It takes the humor of the YFLM lyrics and adds them to really ballsy rock songs. Less fiddly than Skyscraper, less patchy than ALAE and more of a rock album than YFLM.

The guy whose website you are on thinks it's Daves best solo album.

My main criticism is that the one thing it wasn't was a band. There are numerous musicians and writers on it with the only constants being Dave and Ray Luzier his current excellent drummer.

                      Cheers!

That's how sad Dave's solo catalogue is.

DLR Band cd rocks. Really strong tunes, Dave's voice sounds great("Relentless"), and there's some GREAT lyrics("Wa wa zat!"). Definately a strong effort, and a killer band.
