Please enlighten us. What Solo Hagar records are so great that everyone (other than Sammy Hagar fans buy) buys? DLR Band cd was a great record. It was rocking in the way EEAS did. I notice everyone who argues how bad Dave is compares Dave's solo career to VH with Sam or Gary. Sam and Gary get instant attention when in VH (Because of Dave. NO Dave-Sammy NO job-get it!) Dave would also be talked about or in the news even more for rejoining. No one cared where Hagar was before unless you were a fan of rock. he was lucky to be involved in a project (Van Hagar) that made people know who he is. I think Hagar has maintained a good following through the years solo wise. I give him that. Dave hasn't a been a solo artist as long. He hasn't released as many records either. I know Hagar fans that don't want to admit some of his earlier-terrible material. I would like one album by Hagar that is better than EEAS. Or even DLR Band CD.
      I am the law.

It's arguably Dave's best solo record. Fuck anyone who doesn't agree, pretty much.

Poor Dave if that's his best CD. Any fool knows Dave's best is ALAE.
DLR Band is a terribly recorded bunch of demos that could only be released indepently.

I do think Dave made a mistake by not promoting it any more than he did. Didn't he tour with Bad Company right after that album came out, and perform almost exclusively VH material?
He waited a year to tour behind it, one of the mistakes made in marketing it. The Bad Company tour was in 99. Damn did he blow then off the stage. Bad Company sounded great, but they might be the most boring live act I have ever seen. Well, I did see the Cars live zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I would buy it for "Black Sand" alone- one of my very favorite Dave tunes- in my top 5 post-VH tunes for sure- besides that - there are some other great songs- Little Texas, Lose the dress, goin' places are highlights and worth the price of admission... like a few other coherent posters said - it is a great cd if you are Dave fan- if you don't come to rotharmy to constantly stir shit - then you would probably like the DLR band cd

I loved the CD when it came out. Not a dud track on the whole thing. Better than anything VH has done, post '84.

Black Sands is amazing. It has the same feel as Coconut Grove, which also is a tremendously underrated Dave recording. Little Texas is as good as anything Dave has ever done
