Van Halen debuts at No. 2 on charts

Rock veterans Van Halen fell short in their attempt to knock off pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne from the top of the Canadian album charts this week.
Van Halen's compilation "The Best of Both Worlds," which includes three new tracks with returning member Sammy Hagar, debuted at No. 2 with sales of 10,100, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
It wasn't enough to oust Lavigne's "Under My Skin," which occupied the No. 1 spot for a third consecutive week in a row on sales of 12,700.
