Originally posted by POJO_Risin My crowning achievement was the year they won for Right Now...when Ed tells Sam off on camera...and they are ready to come to blows. That was the beginning of the first legitimate rumor that Dave was coming back to the band.
I remember hearing part of one of those Westwood One radio interviews with VAN HAGAR around the time of OU8shit2...
It was ED & SAM on air, and they seemed to just needle and fuck with each other all night. I was about to turn it off, but you could just feel the tension between the two. I recall SAM saying that he had to "carry the shows" a lot (trans: ED's a drunk) and ED subtly made fun of SAM's showmanship and having to do his solo material (trans: ROTH was much better.)
I stand corrected POJO. Last year when we were talking on Yahoo you told me that even you had seen Van Hagar. I just assumed it was the 2004 tour since that is what we were talking about at the time. Sorry, but IMO~ having seen Van Hagar does not make one any less of a Roth fan and that is the point I was trying to make. I'm pretty sure Brownie saw um too... I think he said he went for his wives sake. Why would anyone take me saying this as a put down? I mean seriously. If we can't come on this site and talk Van Halen/Van Hagar/ and Roth honestly... Then we are ALL Sheep, just following different leaders.
Seeing Van Hagar does not make you a bad person. Admitting it is 1/2 the battle. The other 1/2 is dealing with the repercussions of those who take this stuff way too seriously.
I've admitted it feely in times past, I saw Van Hagar twice...'91 and '93...I was very afraid that if I didn't, I'd never see ANY of them live at all, so I figured I'd better.
I was, however, VERY pissed to find out that I'd paid for the same show twice and promised to never see Van Hagar again, and kept good on that.

Well the final board meeting has been conducted.
We have made reached a verdict.
Myself, EUAS, and the webmasters of this site are going to be making an announcement shortly.
Presented by Icabod's Cranium...
Why?

Cool... But that is exactly how I felt after seeing Dave solo twic and then when he toured with Sam. Everything was exactly the same as the last show. Right down to his interactions with the crowd.
Oh brother. That post was made just to get under someone's skin. I love it how you guys hold on to all that old shit fromyears ago! It doesn't bother me because I have no interest in trying to convince anyone that I LOVE Roth... I don't, tho I do love his music...
Come on man! Are you people gonna seriously sit there and tell me that you don't think that Dave's voice is challenged of late, that he's aged badly and that he made some seriously dreadful career moves?
I love CVH but I am not obsessed over any of it's members!
