No matter how little water I use, I still get the same bill, around $45 a quarter. Conservation isn't gonna save me any money. Most of the time I flush the can downstairs with dehumidifier water, I'm not thirsty enough to try to purify it and drink it.Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.Comment

I fully support the cause...I'm just not fond of the method. We take water for granted, and we shouldn't...it's the giver of life..."Ya know what they say about angels... Oh, I know. I don't wash all five vehicles, maybe two, and if I do it's in the yard. The village is picky about what goes down the street drains anyways. I even considered a rainwater storage and pump system for the toilets. I have the supply shut off to the one in the basement and dump the dehumidifier into the tank. Stupid to just dump it down the drain and not get any use out of it.
A group here in the village is promoting the use of rainwater collection barrels, for those who water gardens etc. We're bordered by Lake Erie and a river so proximity to the water is a selling point.
I don't use a whole lot. Daily showers, two loads of laundry a week, and maybe one in the dishwasher. I got a neighbor's bill by mistake once and they were in for $500, but the wife was babysitting and they had a teenage daughter. Just me here.Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.Comment

No doubt we have idiots doing the ice bucket thinking they were donating to a good cause. It took awhile for most to realize it's money or the ice bucket.Comment

As the debate over water wasting continues, Dave and Ed go about their usual business by not accepting the challenge.Comment

Not to mention but that bucket being "wasted"... mostly evaporates and returns to the atmosphere where it hooks up with other moisture and eventual returns to Earth in the form of rain, dew, snow, etc... or it is absorbed into the soil which nurtures plants that produce oxygen that is released into the atmosphere where it combines with the abundant hydrogen making brand new water molecules and the cycle restarts again.
