Perhaps the band/management are being really clever releasing Tokyo Dome now and perhaps they are going to unlock the vaults. Hear me out.

The first rule of selling is release the poor stuff first, save the best for last. I am going to buy the Tokyo Dome Live CD. I have heard the bootlegs, some of it is OK, some of it is awful. But it's an official live release with Roth and it's the first. However, if for example the full Oakland concert(s), Largo 82, US Fest, Montreal 84 etc etc had already been released, I'd have them all and would ignore the Tokyo Dome Show.

So perhaps they are tempting us with an inferior live release knowing that it will sell a few copies but when the real treasure is unlocked we'll snap them up.

Just a hopeful theory, please feel free to shoot it down.
