Getting a little more on topic, when Dave says that Van Halen are the 2nd biggest rock band on Rock Radio and and since #1 is Led Zepplin he was referring to the study mentioned in this article a couple of years ago.

The local classic rock station in Charlotte plays a pretty even mix of Van Halen and Van Hagar. I love it on Twofer Tuesdays when they play a Van Halen song followed by a Van Hagar song lol. And honestly I don't think most people these days give a shit if it's Dave or Sam singing, outside of us and a handful of people on another board.
