You can call it artist progression.

You can ignore the obvious influence of the Diamond One.

It just became crap.

When the VH bros. took over. A lethargy crept in. Their roles never got better. The just parodized themselves and wrote nice pop songs.

When VH came out - it wasn't jus the guitar playing that was compelling. It was a great voice/showman & guitar player & songs that had the rock musicians shaking in their boots.

It raised the bar for everything to follow.
