This one is actually a take off/expansion on a long standing in-match routine done by Nature Boy Ric Flair, whom Dave has also publically credited as being an influence -- among the dozens and dozens of other entertainers from Al Josen to ZZ Top.

Jolsen had his multitude of influences, as did Billy Gibbons.

Oh, and if you think Ric Flair (Richard Fleir) was 100% original (as awesome as he was on the mic in his prime) then you'd better go back and do some research on a guy named Buddy Rogers (Dutch Rhode) as well as Johnny Valentine and Wahoo McDaniel. Then, look closer and tell me who all Rogers was influenced by besides Georgous George (whom Cassius Clay (Ali) copied in interviews)...

Point being, nothing is entirely new and original in the entertainment and marketing business, of which I've spent some 25+ years in myself.

Dave was obviously heavily influenced by Jim Dandy early on, and has said so many times himself. He took bits and pieces he liked from a multitude of sources, as all great entertainers do... I'm here to tell you, however, that one David Lee Roth is as unique as his fingerprint and as talented in his own right within the framework of the entertainment business as anyone walking Gods green earth.

    Nuff said.

Jim Dandy was a tangible influence on Dave.

Although Roth at times took some of Jim Dandy's look (most noticeably on the Fair Warning tour) and some of his onstage moves as a starting point, that's pretty much where it ends.

Roth and Dandy don't sound alike, write the same type of lyrics, and Roth has stage moves that Dandy couldn't dream of pulling off (as opposed to, say, Hagar's jumping jacks).

So anyone who tells you Roth out-and-out ripped off Dandy is only displaying their ignorance about both Dandy and Roth.

Outside of some superficial, cosmetic similarities, the differences far outweigh what they had in common.

They don't see these as superficial differences because they don't "get" what's brilliant about Roth!!

The only reason I posted this stuff about Angelus was because one of you cool bastards asked if Roth had a headset with Angelus speaking all of Roth's words to him. So you know who Angelus is and his impact on the band...part of my post suggested you all did, but I was compelled to rehash what it seems you clods had forgotten. Please show me something where I contradicted myself.......no, I thought so. The Jim Dandy thing came about because someone said Roth was a true 100% original. Not so. Everyone who's been interested in VH knows about Jim Dandy, I just thought those pics were apropos!! As for Roth's dynamic personality, (see Angelus above post)!!! He's a fucking has been!! Get a grip!! You guys have a lot of anger issues huh? Betcha you'd hit Val if you could!!!

Here, get your tissues ready, a news story from, sniff 2001.....

"About a year ago, myself and the great Van Halen band played together once or twice and it sounded amazing. In the following several months, Edward and I--Edward Van Halen and me, David Lee Roth--created some of the most amazing, phenomenal--the hands fell off the clock, ladies and gentleman--and we wrote three astonishing tunes.
"That was last July, and since then, I haven't been up to the studio, we haven't really been in touch, and we haven't made any music. But I am holding forth, I'm in the shape of my life, and I got the high note. I'm ready to go." (LOL!!!!!)

A subsequent full-scale reunion between Van Halen and Roth was expected, but relations between the two parties fell through after Roth and guitarist Edward Van Halen got into an argument backstage at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, where the seemingly reunited group had appeared as presenters.

-- I think I mentioned Ed's side of this the other day and was lambasted for providing mis information by Sgt Rikk. Silly, deluded bastard that he is.

Here's something else-- wanted the best, but, oh well, Roth's available!! He's got fuck all to do!!

Former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth will be performing with The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra at this year's "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular" Independence Day concert in Boston, to be broadcast live from the Charles River Esplanade via the CBS television network. Roth is scheduled to perform his hits "California Girls" and "Jump" with the Boston Pops under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart. The concert will feature its traditional explosive fireworks display with the Boston Pops rendition of the "1812 Overture" as musical accompaniment.

The organizers of the annual Fourth of July extravaganza were previously in talks to have legendary hard rockers AEROSMITH take part in this year's event but were reportedly unable to resolve logistical issues in the period between the band's North American tour and their Japanese tour. Pops conductor Lockhart told the Boston Globe that it "just didn't come together, but Steve Tyler and I were talking, and we want to make it happen at some point."

Wanted Tyler, got Roth....such is life.

                  SHEEP OF THE WEEK:

How are those drugs? Seriously...it's amazing that you talk about a reunion in 2001 and follow it up with a story of it falling apart in 1996. What color is the sky in your world? Do you have any idea what you're talking about any of the time?

You brought up a bullshit story of Roth firing the band that you couldn't back up.

You then made a thread (following nobody's suggestion, you delusional asshole) about Jim Dandy being the singer Roth copied. Again, you missed the point and lied a helluva lot.

Then you make up some shit about people curious about Pete Angelus and now claim you just made a few points about his influence. Read a few posts above, you contradictory cunt-stink. You say explicitly that Pete conceptualized entire videos, made up Roth's quotes, his in-concert banter and wrote lyrics!!! Once again, you contradict yourself.

All to prove to us that Roth is shit. Yeah, you'll be successful at that.

You are three times worse than cockvanhalen69 because he's just stupid. You're crazy, pathetic and angry. You've probably been banned from the Links already. Well, don't think we want your sorry ass, either. But you seem to love the attention. Well, congrats...everyone here hates you, we all know what a loser you are, we all know you'll lie to prove a point. In other words, you suck. Yes, you can spell. But you can't think straight.

Question for you, Contradict Man...if Roth sucks so much, why has the band repeatedly tried to go back to him? Why did they try twice to get Roth back and finally settle on Hagar? Could it have anything to do with popularity and money? Gee...isn't it kinda obvious by the lack of ticket sales, album sales and radio play that even though Van Halen is still considered one of the biggest rock bands in the world, the world just doesn't care about any line-up but their original one?

Now get back in the fucking pen!
