Pulled this from a review of the first Vegas show. I'm still fucking laughing...read on...
For all of Sam's talk about wanting to do great versions of DLR tunes on this tour, it was maybe half true. On a lot of tunes, but especially the DLR tunes, Sammy would head to the pits to grab stuff, sign things, hold stuff up, unfold banners and try on shirts. It got a little old. A few other times he turned the mic over to people in the pit to sing parts of DLR tunes (which he said in interviews he had done in the past because he didn't like singing the tunes but would not do on this tour), which proved a bad idea during Panama, when a male fan who had the mic earlier in the show got a hold of the mic and went into a DLR impression - "look at all the people here tonight I sayyyy......." The guy went on with what Dave would have said and done during the middle of Panama and for a few seconds it was like the ghost of Dave had entered the arena and stolen his microphone back. Sammy was pissed and kept motioning for the guy to give the microphone back. The dude wouldn't give it up and went on with his Dave banter, but security finally got it and Sammy continued with "ease the seat back" and the band relaunched into the song.
Mezro...LOL..props to that guy for pissing Sam off...I'd love to see video of this...
