    Great review Rikk, well done....
Diver Down may be looked at by some as a weak album, but I love it, well all except Good Times and PW....
Diamond Mafia Forever - 4. To restore fullbug to the prominent place in this board, after various serious attacks by hitch1969 have now damaged his reputation and now is reguarded as a "Retarded, Stoned, Canadian, Dog finger bangin' fuckup"

            FYI,

Joe Thunder, AKA J.T. Rocks, AKA longdongsilver has long claimned that he MIXED Diver Down

Perhaps we should get his "inside" perspective.

Of course he has no proof of this claim, but that's never stopped king shitstain thunder before

For what it's worth, I LOVED DD when it came out, and still think it holds up better than anything with Sammy BuffetLine

              Excellent Rikk.

And as far as Dancing in the Streets goes, it sucks, but I would rather hear the VH version than any other.

                I love Diver Down!

A postmodern masterpiece. It's everything the corporate, generic, bland Van Hagar offerings could never be.

Highlights for me are Hang 'em High, Cathedral, Intruder, Little Guitars and The Full Bug.

Where have all the good times gone?

ALWAYS thought that DIVER DOWN rocked!!!! I have NEVER heard the Kinks Original version of "Where Have All The Good Times Gone", and I don't need to!!!!!! My only complaint, then as now, is that IT IS TOO SHORT! Too many Covers? MAybe. The original stuff is some of their best.
Remember they toured (THE HIDE YOUR SHEEP TOUR) to support DIVER DOWN the summer between 8th and 9th grade. Simply the BEST AMERICAN HARD ROCK BAND.......EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

                      Nice stuff Rikk!
                      Main representin'!

Everyone's got their opinions of this album, the majority being kinda negative.

It's one of my all-time "summer soundracks". I'll even say I like the covers.

Hang 'em high, Little Guitars, and The Full Bug are beyond reproach eh?

I actually swooped in to move this shit...

but Sarge requested this shit a sticky...so it stays...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

                            It's a great album.

The fact that it took 11 days to record shows a fierceness and hunger of a band primed by constant playing, touring and living.

Dancing In the streets:Is great. It's funny how the sisters can degrade this tune and do "why cant this b luv". Structurally they are very similar.

Rik I also agree that some of their best original songs is contained on that album. Little Guitars, Hang 'em high, FULL BUG - untouchable and I think the time constraints add to the tension that makes the sound of these songs so great. the urgency of the sessions! lack of post-production didn't degrade the quality of content present.

I find the Kinks cover somewhat forgettable. The lack of guitar solos was DLR's idea and can be confi4rmed on VH-The Early Years DVD.

                                Thanks man!

                                I really appreciate that.

Hurricanes are nothing new to me. Just an excuse to catch a decent wave in Florida.
