BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow ! Love ya Mary Frances!
An interviewer that knows shit doesn't get interviews.
No matter what Van Hagar does at this point, they will get slammed for it.
If they did release Dave era materials, you will hate them for still using and abusing the guys creativity and talent to further their flailing careers.
Material that has already been remade and released as another song does not count as unreleased material.
All Ed does is rehash old shit and clal it new. And speaking of the new shit, and it is shit, ther is too much going on in all three new songs. Is it me or does About Time reek of I Can't Drive 55? Learning to See is just a cluster fuck of bad ideas all going in different directions. Let's not even get started with Up For Breakfast. Who the fuck wants to butter Sam's 60 year old moldy biscuit? Sam was never good at double entendres or sexual innuendo and this proves it. I can't wait to hear the 10 albums worth of shit ed's been working on. Oh, we already heard it all crammed in to those three new songs. Fuck VH
When the shit hits the fan, close your mouth and duck.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Material that has already been remade and released as another song DOES indeed count as unreleased material, due to the fact that the song structure is vastly different, most often the words are vastly different, and the fact that "Voodoo Queen", say, has never been released by Warner Bros. makes it UNRELEASED. Saying otherwise doesn't make it fact, it just makes it your opinion, which is of course, wrong.
Would we hate Van Halen for "abusing their creativity and talent to further their failing careers" if they resorted to releasing everything that's been piling up in their vaults over the last twenty five years?
NO
Van Halen can abuse themselves in whatever way they see fit, but I really honestly doubt that any DLR fan is going to find a good reason to bitch about them cleaning out their vaults. Like I said, it's a win/win situation for everyone involved - David wins, Van Halen wins, the fans win AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?
Only the fact that Van Halen doesn't want to recognize the basic fact that there's an extreme demand for this material, apparently - which is the point I'm trying to make. There's plenty of stuff they can release, official versions of bootleg material, live cuts, video footage...they just WON'T, for whatever reason, and my best guess, the only possible reason I can figure for them not doing it, is because they don't want to pay David the royalties that would come of it's sales and have to finally admit the inescapable knowledge that the Roth era generates three times as much interest as the Hagar era.

Fucking Right! And I want to hear it when it happens...
So basically, if you read between the lines, this is another shot at Dave.
"There are no real tracks that are unreleased. There may be two or three songs that were partially completed" Alex tells Undercover News. "If those songs were really worthwhile we would have released them back when they were written".
So basically anything they did with Dave doesn't count. Then if they weren't worthwhile, then why did Ed rehash bits and pieces of these songs and use them with Sam?
"It just happened that when the four of us got together we played as much music as Sammy could digest and the one's that really stuck in his head were the ones that we worked on. It was nothing more or nothing less than that. It was that simple."
So basically they are admitting that Sam isn't as creative as Dave and can only handle three songs at a time. That's why VH has so much unreleased material from Dave. He had so many ideas and pushed Ed to write that many songs, eventually eliminating them from the albums. What band doesn't write and record more than they release? If Van Hagar released everything they ever recorded, then I guess Ed was right about Sam's work ethic, it sucks and he' a lazy piece of shit. If I were a musician, I would never admit that I release everything I record. That's a fuckin insult to all of us who pay money. There is supposed to be a process. Let's release only what we consider to be the best of the bunch, not let's throw together three new songs and wing it.
Man I hate that cocksucker Al more and more everyday.
When the shit hits the fan, close your mouth and duck.
I remember when the REISSUES of the six-pack were released and somebody asked SHEMP/alex why no bonus material. He said something to the effect that adding material that was left off of them originaly would "Change" the individual releases. So, he's LYING when he says there is NO left over material. Anybody else remember him saying this, and is so where he said it?
FUCK SHEMP Van Halen anyway!!!!!! :fucku2:
I remember that as well, but I couldn't say for the life of me where it was he said it at! I believe I saw it originally over at the links when everyone there was in an uproar about the six pack reissues being direct proof that David was back and Andrew from melodiCROCK was releasing a track listing for Tabula Rasa and so and and so forth....
God damnit, I wish I knew where that quote was! Anyone bored enough to do a search online for "Alex Van Halen Interview"? :D
Further, YES, Antman, I'm right with you on that one. It's a no brainer that Van Halen must have a shitload of unreleased Roth era stuff lying around...for fuck's sake, we've all seen the hints of what they must have in all the bootlegs available for trade.
See, that's where it gets interesting with Hagar...I don't know about anyone else, but about the only "Unreleased Sam Halen" stuff I really know of off the top of my head is:
1 - Crossing Over
2 - Between Us Two
3 - The Club (don't know anything about it, was the original working title of F.U.C.K. I think)
4 - Out of the Ether (ditto the above, don't know anything about this either)
5 - The Love (again, originally written for F.U.C.K., Spammy reshaped it and put it on one of his shit-ass solo CDs some time later, I guess)
6 - Amnesty is Granted (I don't know if this was a Hagar fuckoff track or what...they played it as a Spammy solo thing when I saw them in '93, but I know it showed up on a Meat Loaf album sometime later on as well).
That's about the only unreleased songs I have EVER heard of from the Hagar era. A whopping 6, and also, I suppose, that "5150 Leftovers" thing (never heard it, have no desire to either). Unless somebody knows of others that I don't, I think that's pretty shitty for an eleven plus year run with a vocalist, hmm? Even if you perfect everything you're currently working on when you're making an album (FAT CHANCE), it still shows that Ed was right and Hagar's work ethic is in the fucking toilet, which is really why they probably prefer him. Working probably puts a big cramp in Eddie's drinking schedule, so...
YUP, bet the SISTERS would LOVE to blame EVERYTHING that went Wrong while he was in the band on Spammy. Sounds FAMILIAR don't IT!!!!!! COULDN'T BE that EVH is/was a ragging SUBSTANCE ABUSER who can't get out of bed to work. And SHEMP/alex is just a drone who backs his lil' Bro on everything. Too bad EVH got out of bed AT ALL, then we could have been spared shit likw WCTBL,LCWI, Dreams, WIL, CSLY, etc. ad infinum.
FUCK YOU Van Hagar!!!!!!!!! :fucku2:
