The US fans are pretty fucking lucky to have Dave and bands like the Punks to go see.

I've been a fan since 1981 but there's no way I'll go see Van Hagar if they come here. I won't go on principle. The way they've treated their fans from the old school days is a fucking disgrace.
You are right.... after almost 20 years of waiting, here was my first chance to see Ed, Al and Mike. Ed played OK, but the guitar sound was pretty ordinary.

    * shakes head * still can't get over Cherone... now back to my couch..

oh and I wonder if the Punks would ever consider coming to Australia, even for a summer holiday and just throw in a few gigs.. I may drop them a line via their website, can't hurt.
Go home the Earth is full....

Sorry Alex, we aint inviting you.

The Ga y Cherone tour was a big enough insult, now after all this time you expect us to welcome another non-original version of Van Halen.

ALEX VAN HALEN GO FUCK YOURSELF !

AUSTRALIA DOES NOT WANT YOUR VAN HAGAR SHIT !
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
      Love ya Mary Frances!

Here in New Zealand, they had the BOBW cd in the "must buy" section of alocal music store, but theres not even a dint in the pile.

The radio was giving the cd away or the velvet revolver cd, and the kid was all "hmmm, van who??"

If they come here, I wont go, dont know anyone who will. ill wait until judas priest come here next year.

I wanted to say something like that to Alex in the foyer of the Adelaide Hilton, but have you ever seen that dude in person? Scary looking fucker! He was nice enough to hang around for a while and have photos with us.

I also met Gary Cherone. A nice enough guy but as Sebastian Bach once said 'you can't be a nice guy and be the lead singer of Van Halen'.

If Van Hagar toured here now they would have to play smaller venues like the Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide, which holds about 2,000 - 3,000.

He doesnt scare me at all. I'd just wave a neckbrace at the fucker ! :p

I hope they dont come here. It would be a failure and then we would never get another chance if the real deal happened.

With a reunion tour that's playin' to 2/3 full halls in THEIR OWN HOMETOWN, I don't believe the loyal CLASSIC VAN HALEN fans DOWNUNDER have much to worry about. Van Hagar is limping across the STATES this summer, and the end is in site. They'll be going home to lick their wounds and start the usual INFIGHTING and FINGER POINTING!!!
My guess is the VAN HALEN SISTERS will go backinto hiding and Spammy and Mike will continue their "love affair" in some other musical venture. Good Riddance to Van Hagar for a 2nd time!

                  Lol!

Yeah, I hope they don't come here. If they do I think we should organise some form of resistance. Something like the 'It ain't Van Halen without David Lee Roth' campaign.

If the real Van Halen reunites and don't tour here I'm heading over to the States. There's no way I'd miss that!

                      The ultimate in cool!

To see Classic VH in their own backyard would be awesome. I can't go through life with my only live experience of VH in the form of Van Cherone!

I saw GNR in Melbourne and I'm sure the Classic VH line-up would play gigs of that type and size in the US. What a buzz.

We might even get to have a drink with Fabulous Shadow!

I know, after waiting 19 years, Van Cherone was such a rip off, let down, and a poor attempt at giving us in Aust. what we really wanted. If classic VH did decide to play gigs in the US, I'm sure we could put the call in to a few of the people on here, fly over and share a beer or 12...

Missed out on GnR, was in NZ, would have been good.

Hagar needs to keep his sawed-off, Bette Midler-looking, hooch-peddling yap shut.

I am yet to meet an Aussie (in person) that prefers Van Hagar.
I was shocked when I found out that Andrew (Melodicrock) prefers
Van Hagar. He was like the first Aussie that I knew about that
likes hagar !!! I guess we have to forgive him, he is a Taswegian

There's a really cool music store in the city of Adelaide that actually refuses to stock any Van Hagar. It's a store that specialises in metal/hard rock/alternative music and sells all kinds of off the wall stuff. It's the kind of shop that you'll find every album Henry Rollins or Frank Zappa ever released. The owner is a big fan of Classic VH and told me once that there's just no interest in Sammy Hagar or Van Hagar here, so he's quite happy not to stock any of it.

When Dave released DLR Band he ordered in quite a few copies and sold them all pretty quickly.

Hey, if you waited 19 years, does that mean you also missed the mighty DLR tour when he was in Melbourne in '88, at the National Tennis Centre (whatever it's called now)?

The place was fucking packed. I remember getting tickets the morning they went on sale, and the seats I got were still a zillion miles from the stage. Not that it mattered, cos during the support, we managed to make our way right down the front, stage left, so I also had a good view of Vai's shredding. A truly excellent gig!

Jeez, I just realised that was 16 fucking years ago. That means I was probably...20.
