Ok, I´m new here and as much as I think Dave rules I haven´t been following what he´s been up to lately close enough. One thing I´m asking myself, why did the DLR Band not follow through with a few more albums?? After all, their first and only did fairly well, all things considered!

Was really looking forward to hearing a lot of that DLR Band CD material aired live when Roth began hitting the road again in 1999, but as far as I know only Slam Dunk (the best Van Halen song in 14 years when it was released......haha) has been played.

Yeah...pretty disappointing. I gotta do a review of DLR BAND soon after my FAIR WARNING one. DLR BAND is filled with great riffage and lyrics.

Id like to believe that Roth partners up with his old EEAS band again or start an all star band ala Velvet Revolver. Using an actual band name instead of his own name with come off less conceited too and will help Dave's chances at rocking the top of the charts one more time without VH. He carries the Roth name too proud. :D

I think that WOULD help. (naming the band something else) Because a lot of people think he's washed up and if he renames the band they won't think he's the focus or that he's still lost in the 80's. I would give anything to see him live just ONE MORE TIME, though. Best concert I've ever been to. August 28th, 2003- Oneida Casino, Green Bay, WI

I have heard from some sources that Dave has about 2 albums worth of rock material that could be used for new albums. Also I heard that he wanted to forego the major label thing when the DLR Band album was released because he thought that the hype from the split with VH would be enough to generate significant sales and garner some radio airplay. Of course this didn't really pan out. Now my sources could be wrong of course but this all sounds logical to me. And as much as I love Dave he has miscalculated things like this before. A major label or subsidiary would have been the better route in terms of marketing to a large audience. It almost always is. Although I like "Diamond Dave" I thought it was not really a great idea in terms of marketing to do a covers album. I've come to the conclusion though from interviews, observing past actions & meeting Ron Wikso & Ray Luzier that Dave just does things on a whim. Whatever and whenever he feels like it. I don't think money is an issue and although as fans we want him to release an album and tour every year I can understand why he does whatever he wants. That is the greatest gift money can give you. And it seems to me Dave is taking advantage of it.

Didn't Dave's guitarist leave riht after they recorded the DLR album? Joining, of all people, Marilyn Manson??

That probably had a little to do with the lack of a follow-up.

Yeah, John Lowry became Johnny 5 or what the hell ever and decided that Manson was the way to go....ooook then....still, I read a review with him a while back and he didn't have anything but positives to say about Dave. Which is nice, considering.

I read that article that was here in these threads, and will agree that he didn't say anything negative about Dave, but still, talked more about Manson.

Who is he playing with for this up coming shows, did that question get answered.
