Maybe on tour open up with Unchained and close with Jump or Panama but everything else should be original Dave music. He needs his new band (or current one) to be called something other than "Diamond Dave" or "DLR Band".
OK, but I say 50-60% Classic VH in his sets. And the way I understood it is that the name DLR Band was an attempt to show that it was a band not just a solo effort. Who knows?

I think he should move past just rehashing old classics of VH and just play his stuff from 86 on- The DLR Band name was "supposed" to be a acronym for his band, but I think thats just a coincidence.

And yflm sold 64,000 but this site doesnt say that either...

        whats up with that?

As for those albums, ALAE has reportedly sold just over a million copies and YFLM over 500k, but WB has not updated the certifications. Both are also out of print. In music biz, alot of the older albums don't get updated as they reach up the certification limits, especially for an artist that isn't on the payroll anymore.

The DLR Band didn't follow up with any albums, IMO, may be due to the fact that Dave was trying to get Van HALEN to reform.

So, he went on his '99 tour, which even Valerie B at the time said that Dave was great.

Then as we know, Dave and VH hook up in 2000.

Then Eddie's cancer thing hits, delays things, and then the Sam-Dave tour and then the lawsuit.

Since then, Dave has toured again in '03 and a few shows this year.

However, it seems Dave doesn't want to record new hard rock music with a solo band but only with Van HALEN.

            Too fucking true.

Can understand wanting to include a sizeable bulk of Van Halen in his set, but Roth has been doing setlists with virtually every tune being a classic except for one or two at the most for far too long. It was almost overkill by the time the 2002 Sam and Dave thing came along (although his band does play them exceptionally well).

Doubt anyone going to see his solo act these days would be bummed if classic Van Halen represented, say, only 50% of the set and the rest was balanced off with post-1984 material.

Tunes like Elephant Gun, Big Trouble, Slam Dunk, Little Texas......even better known Roth solo work like Going Crazy, A Little Aint Enough, Just Like Paradise etc., all of which would sit alongside the classic Van Halen material just fine at a Roth concert.
