"There are a lot of Roth diehards who are completionists. If he was featured on BOBW, that meant they had to own it. I just feel sorry for the poor bastards who opened the package and discovered how little Roth representation was actually there."
What's really too bad is that they included live versions of Sammy singing "Ain't Talking About Love" "Panama" and "Jump" at the end of the collection. If they had closed the set with Classic VH doing these songs, they might have had a winner -- especially since there are no commercially available live recordings of the Roth-era band. It was, after all, the addition of the two new tracks with DLR that made BOV1 really worth buying.
As it is, there are two versions of "Panama" on disc 2 -- the studio version with Dave (which opens the disc) and the live version with Van Hagar. Dave raps about cruising; Sammy gives a lengthy and rather odd rap about the need to live for "Right Now-ow-ow-ow."Comment

Hey you guys cant we all just get along lol. If i can put my two cents in here mind you there are 2 canadian cents so your lookin at half an american penny lol. I use to work at a music store and a double album does count as 2 albums sales wise. Those of you who have called that are in the know my friends and compadres. The sales i have seen here in canada is 300,000 thats triple platinum. why are sales low unlike gnr`s single disc that goes for about 12 bucks bobw double goes for 25 plus. i did a project a few years back and in the age of downloading, expensive movies at theatres, sony playstations, dvd movie purchases, dvd players etc etc the consumer has very little spending money left to burn. im not defending van hagar as i said before im a fan of all things halen and roth so i do not love van hagar i respect some of the tunes etc etc but these times are different. very few bands crack 2 million plus these days unless there fucking paris hilton or britney spears.Comment
