    THE REASON BOBWorlds is platinum

    I'm doing this because there are still a significant number of morons (hagar fans) that do not understand how album certification works. So for all of you idiots who think WCTBLove "rocks" here goes----BOBWorlds is a double disc set. That means when the RIAA does audits on it they count each "package" or "unit" as 2 COPIES SOLD since it's a double disc set. Vhagar get credit for 837,098 sold because it's a DOUBLE DISC SET. THE ACTUAL SALES ARE 418,549, MEANING 418,549 PEOPLE ACTUALLY BOUGHT IT. Same thing with the Rolling Stones new set 40 licks, it's certified for 4 million but the ACTUAL SALES are only 2.3 million. Since it's also a double disc set they get credit for TWICE the amount. This is the way the RIAA has done it for years. GO TO THEIR WEBSITE WWW.RIAA.COM---IT'S ALL THERE YOU IDIOTS. METAL-SLUDGE.COM has all of these numbers up for ALL TO SEE. BOBWorlds has only been purchased by 418,549 PEOPLE. END OF STORY.

    then technically, by riaa standards, since it has only sold 873,098 "units", then it's only gone "gold". when 500,000 actual people buy it, it will be considered as "platinum" for having 1 million "units" sold.

    that's pretty bad. more people actually bough vhIII than this piece of garbage, cuz vhIII went gold and it's only a SINGLE cd set. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! hey spermmy, put that in your pipe and smoke it. more people bought into Ga y Cherone than they did you!!!!! hope this helps you sleep better at night!

      Well done!

      Thanks for posting, the Army loves you. It's amazing how many sheep are so blind to this or just plain ignore it for the sole purposes of bettering Van Hagar.

      Stupid.

        Did these Hagar fans pay for the album twice ??

        *NO*

        How many people paid for VHIII v BOBW ?? Hey ???

        (VHIII being the band's acknowledged greatest ever failure)

        Come on Sammy fans, lets compare the greatest hits package
        with new hagar songs versus the greatest hits package with
        new Dave songs..

        Even with your pathetic doubling of fiugures, Dave wins, yet again.

            Man, the RIAA are pretty stupid.... So if you wanna look like you are selling well, always release a double disc set and you will be stylin! But really, the discs are a good mix.... The Dave stuff sounds amazing!

              Guys it's already platinum, the RIAA goes by shipped units not units sold. BOBW shipped platinum, therefore it already is by their standards. No matter what the sales are.

                NOT THE POINT

                Brett your post is worthless. The point is that this album has failed badly. The hagar clan can spin all they want but it doesn't change the facts. 3 new tracks is substantial, and the album did NOTHING. The tour has failed as well. Nowhere near as successful as Hagar had claimed it would be and it's routinely listed as one of the tours that had trouble drawing people in music related articles. THE FACT that this album hasn't even been purchased by 500,000 people yet speaks volumes. VHagar means very little in the grand scheme of things. Hagar fans can either learn to live with it or continue to live in denial.

                    Well I don't think the disc should be looked at a Hagar release.... I mean yeah there were three new songs on there, but it's a greatest hits package.... I mean they could have released this without a singer, and it would have probably still done about the same.... I mean, it's just a greatest hit's, and it has better selection that BOV1..... So I don't understand why you guys don't like it.... Is it just because of the new songs?

                      Four reasons:

                      1 - the new "songs" (sound more like something I did on the toilet last night, anyway);

                      2 - the fact that the Roth catalog is mish-mashed together with the Hagar catalog...there really IS a separation in the material and that haphazard non-linear track listing does nothing for it;

                      3 - the fact that the last live songs were bastardized Hagar versions of Roth classics; and finally

                      4 - the absolute lack of any Diamond Dave recognition with it's release...Van Halen continually downplays and attempts to erase all of it's history with Roth over and over...were it not for the old catalog selling as well as it still does, it wouldn't have surprised me to see the DLR six pack out of print at their request years ago.

                      In a nutshell, I'd say that about covers it.

                        Truth, I am telling you how it is, you seem to like the truth right?

                        That's how the RIAA works.

                        I could care less about sales and this lame ass drama you have over it. Van Halen is about 1 millionth on the list of important things in my life, I'm just telling you how the RIAA works.

                        They certify based on shipped units ya big dummy.

                        I could care fucking less if Sam leaves, if Dave joins, if Eddie's a drunk, if VH plays to arenas of 4 people, etc. Stop lumping me in with people who are living and dying with what VH is doing now. The last person that's going to care if Sam leaves VH is me. I've been indifferent to all of it for a very long time.

                            RH, it didn't seem like it, but I haven't searched through hundreds of posts to find out if you guys knew RIAA bases certification on shipped units.

                            If you guys knew that, ok then, you knew it. Cool.
