Um, yeah...so like we were saying... How 'bout those Downtown Sessions?
An acoustic version of "Mean Streets" (minus the intro, of course) would have been kick ass. I'm looking forward to the DVD - by the sounds of it, we may be getting a full blown documentary based on all the bits and pieces of video being leaked by the band.Comment

Obviously things that are acoustic in the original recordings would lend themselves to the 'Downtown' treatment. Which makes you wonder why something like 'Could This Be Magic' was overlooked (or maybe it was attempted and just didn't translate well). I would have loved to hear that live over an acoustic 'You Really Got Me,' a song I've heard 1,000,006 times. I kind of wish they would just drop YRGM from their arsenal. They don't need it anymore - they have more than enough music from their own catalog that defines them as a band without relying on a tune they are admittedly tired of playing in the first place. Wonder if Wolfie plays clarinet? If they're going to do a cover tune acoustically, they ought to try 'Big Bad Bill.' Although I seem to recall Ed saying the chords for that song were a bitch to learn. My karma just ran over your dogma.Comment

The Roth & Van Halen on hiatus RothArmy showed it's old form... it was only a matter of time that old habits and persona's would return. Silly to think this current, everyone's nice, positive and getting along would last as long as it did...
Dave mentioned licensing issues prevented YRGM from being on the record... do you figure Ray Davies and the Kinks road blocked this? Kind of a hey you stole our thunder once with this song... not again."If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”Comment

I think you and I are the only two people here who cringed just a little bit when Dave was being Dave in this video. I absolutely remember Eddie talking shit about Dave's "hoppin-boppin" etc.. routine. Ed said those exact words for god's sake! And when Dave started up with it...I know I subconsciously ducked down a little because I just knew Ed was going to toss his guitar and say "fuck THIS"! I hope Ed and Al have grown up a little bit and realize that Dave is just Dave. They can't change him - and I hope they don't try.Now who`s that babe with the fab-u-lous shad-ow?Comment
