The logistics of comunicating back and forth between Sarge(Italy) and any designer could be a bit of a hassle, but with the advent of the internets it is just a slight inconvienience of instead of sitting in person attempting to relay thru image and text only...no biggie.

I thought you guys were on top of this doing the way you wanted but I guess I could have spoke up earlier.

I know several commercial industrial photographers and also people who design websites with top notch software and are not foolish when it comes to money or business.

It would cost more than 600 bucks but perhaps that is the issue shoe string buget ( i mean not demanding proper funds by the creators/ web designers) and promises of grandure.

I don't believe you intended for things to happen the way they did, but you did post a picture that showed the name of a company where he was affiliated and it didn't take long for a couple people to Google and find his full name and Google some more and on and on. The whole thing blew up out of control in a matter of minutes.

I admit that that post was not my smartest move, but his name was already in this thread & everyone could've found that by googling. Notice I didn't actually post his own Facebook & there's no link on that link to it. Just the name & a couple of comments.

Afterwards, VA deleted all of Mezro's pictures & personal info.

We are cool man. People now know my real name and what I look like isn't exactly a fucking secret or anything anymore. This whole situation is really all about resolving some longstanding problems and misconceptions about me. If nothing else, it has been the catalyst for an open dialogue. Hopefully, I can solve some of the problems from the Mezro days.

And that is where my mistake came from. I thought all of the images on Roth Army were hosted on the server. They were not. Most were hosted externally. I can't write code and I don't build websites. I should have asked someone who did for advice before I started playing Caesar. It was a case of me jumping and not having all the information I needed to make the right decision.

I don't have a dog in this hunt... but as a former crew member of a similarly flagged battleship, parked in the same harbor I do feel qualified to offer an observation and opinion...

In light of your public demotion, personal identification and alleged defamation, Mezro... your sudden shift to humilty and open honesty for mistakes made in administering this site, while appearing somewhat sincere and without a doubt quite human... you shouldn't be surprised that some if not many still harbor anger over the way things played out here.

You can claim abrasive humor was misunderstood... but you know that's not really the case. Even though this is all meaningless internet crap in the larger scheme of life... you were in a position of leadership. What you did and how you handled it had a direct impact on this community.

The irresponsible removal of data without qualified technical expertise, coupled with the very public "fuck you, if you don't like it" responses you dished out here as a "person in charge" were reckless, egotistical and downright disgraceful to the whole membership and long-time staff who built this place. No bones about it... and no excuse for the disrespect you knowingly dished out across the board.

Looking forward... my advice to you, Todd/Mezro... make your peace and gracefully bow out of this place. Assess your decisions and please give some serious thought to lessons learned here and apply to your life ahead. Frankly, the simple fact is that I don't think you can recoup what you've destroyed here.

For the site and it's upgrades. The remaining staff should regroup privately with Sarge. Evaluate what you can afford to put into this place, if anything... if you choose to upgrade give serious thought to going with a mainstream, established web development company and forget the hobbists and bit players.

Make damn sure you hold the full administrative keys to the data you own as well... I can't stress that enough!! Similar issues with web hosting/development is the same thing that killed DDLR.com... hate to see that repeat again... we've lost enough already in this space.
