I don't think Pedro is good enough to even to have NY look at him...he's a great pitcher right now...but is a pussy...and skills are going...going...not gone yet...but soon will be...

Nomar will end up in Anaheim...not this year though...

They still possess the best record in baseball.

      ARod 19 dingers so far.

      Rivera 0.93 ERA. Simply awesome.

Contreras pitched awesome today. I think now that his family is here, we are going to see the Jose Contreras that NY paid for.

We'll see...he's pitched like this before...and imploded a game or two later...

once he starts worrying about his wife finding out about all his bitches...it's back to the beginning for the Cuban...

They're in that mode that they're always in...the relax mode until the playoffs...

problem with that...complacency...is that when you get an upstart in there...like the Marlins and the Angels...they play the season with all 8 cylinders clicking...and don't have to turn it up...

The Yanks need some young blood in there that haven't tasted it...

I think A-Rod will go just fucking nuts in the playoffs. He could smell a championship as soon as he put on the pinstripes, he's not going to let it get away.

He's been in the playoffs before...I agree with you...but the Yanks have always played like a team...won and lost as a team...they'll need more than Arod...

that being said...I think their next coupla deals will be big...but they better ask Torre...

It's early in the season but the Yankees begin a three game series with the Red Sox tonight. A sweep by the Yanks and they can wave bye bye to the Red Sox.

Giambi diagnosed with parasites, out of lineup vs. Red Sox

By RONALD BLUM, AP Sports Writer

                              June 29, 2004

NEW YORK (AP) -- Ailing Yankees first baseman Jason Giambi was diagnosed with parasites and was pulled from the starting lineup Tuesday night in the opener of New York's three-game series against the Boston Red Sox.

When asked specifically what the doctor told him, Giambi said he didn't remember.

                              ``I don't have a Ph.D. and I'm not world renowned,'' Giambi said.

The former AL MVP said he'd been feeling exhausted for about three weeks. He began taking a new set of antibiotics Tuesday and said a doctor told him he should feel better within a couple of days.

``There should be no reason for being this exhausted. I'm 33, not 50,'' Giambi said. ``It kind of makes you understand why you're getting jammed by guys throwing 88 miles an hour.''

Giambi has one hit in his last 14 at-bats and is in a 13-for-65 rut. He hasn't homered since hitting his 11th of the season on June 6, and his average has dropped from .271 on June 7 to .237.

``This sort of explains it to be more than a slump,'' Yankees manager Joe Torre said. ``He still looks a little washed out.''

Giambi wasn't surprised Yankees owner George Steinbrenner had recently criticized him a bit.

``In some cases, he was right,'' Giambi said. ``I wasn't feeling real good and I was hurting the team.''

Torre also wasn't startled by Steinbrenner's statements.

``When the owner got on (Hideki) Matsui last year, I think we all realized we're all vulnerable,'' Torre said.

On Sunday, Giambi looked so bad when he got to Yankee Stadium that Torre sent him to a hospital. Giambi, who looked glassy-eyed, took two bottles of intravenous fluids and did not play during the Yankees' day-night doubleheader sweep of the New York Mets.

Giambi started feeling ill a couple of weeks ago when he caught a stomach virus from teammate Gary Sheffield.

Torre originally had Giambi batting seventh Tuesday night. He was replaced at first base by Tony Clark, who hit eighth. Torre moved center fielder Kenny Lofton from ninth to leadoff, and dropped designated hitter Bernie Williamsfrom first to sixth and catcher Jorge Posada one notch to seventh.

                              Notes

RHP Kevin Brown, recovering from a back spasm that forced him out of a start June 9, threw 62 pitches in his third bullpen session. His return was delayed after an unsatisfactory bullpen outing Sunday night. ``Better than the last time,'' pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre said. Brown is to throw again in the bullpen on Thursday before the Yankees decide whether he needs a rehabilitation start in the minors or can rejoin the rotation. ``When we get to the point where he has a couple of good bullpens, he can convince me of anything,'' Torre said. ... RHP Jon Lieber has felt weakness in the shoulder, but Torre isn't overly concerned. Lieber missed all of last year following an elbow operation, and Torre attributes the weakness to the layoff. ``Probably he's not all the way back yet from the surgery,'' the manager said. ... RHP Mike Mussina is to start Friday's opener of a three-game series at the Mets, and he'll be followed by RHP Jose Contreras and RHP Javier Vazquez. ... Sheffield did not have a second cortisone shot in his right shoulder, which hasbursitis, and was in the lineup in right field.

Isn't WORMS parasites? You get them from walking around barefoot on ground or carpet animals have messed on, eating uncooked pork, or drinking contaminated water.

Cooties or Lice are also parasites...

                                As well as Crabs...
