I can't say that the Tapia thing is really a surprise to me. I think he lived his entire life on the edge, even over the edge a few times. Sooner or later you have to back away from the edge or fall off. I saw a replay of a fight featuring a fighter he was training and listening to him screaming at his fighter it seemed to me that Tapia really wished it were him in the ring. Some people can never get over that.

I know what you mean. Tapia it seemed was a trainwreck waiting to happen but damn he was exciting to watch and you knew what you were going to get when he got into the ring. He left everything he had before he left for the night. He was as true of a ring warrior as there was. He fought hard and he played hard.
Any good fights this weekend to speak of? I'm jonesin' for some action.

This weekend the only fight i can see is Beibut Shumenov v Enrique Ornelas (WBA light-heavyweight)in vegas .
next weekend the 9th pac and bradley get it on .
I'd like to see Bradley AT LEAST give Pac a run for his money - not sure I'd want to see him win because I'm still holding out hope Floyd will eventually beat the sh*t out of him, and losing to Bradley would mess that up - but man, Bradley repeating everything he says 3 times on 24/7 is getting annoying...
"He's trying to take food of my table! He's trying to take food of my table! He's trying to take food of my table! " Uh no, dude - even if you lose you still get paid more than you've ever gotten for ANY fight...

i dont think bradley will win , he is young, strong and undefeated and will definately come to fight. But the only way he has a chance against pac's speed and power is if pac is losing his desire to stay on top .
Am a bit like you J i dont want him to lose because i wanna see mayweather pac get it on ....
I ve been seeing a few articles about pacquiao making comments on gay marriage ... you know wtf, who cares, i aint judging .. but the articles all look funny because they all read the same ....CAMP PACQUIAO AND GAY MARRIGE COMMENT ....As if to say pac is camp .. just made me laugh ...
Actually a really good fight card Saturday on Showtime. Here is what we have:
Saturday, June 2 - Carson, CA (Showtime)
Antonio Tarver - Lateef Kayode
Austin Trout - Delvin Rodriguez
Ronald 'Winky' Wright - Peter Quillin
I am really interested in the Tarver fight because Kayode has been on Showtime a lot and his perception is that Tarver has continually been negative toward him in his fight analysis and commentary. He basically called Tarver out and told him to come get some. I believe Kayode is still undefeated at this point. I am also interested to see how Winky Wright looks after a looooong layoff.

Has Tarver done ANYTHING of note besides the lucky shot that knocked out Roy Jones jr.?

Tarver has got to be some age now , he's been around forever
Gotta be pushing 40. But I remember the last fight of his I saw, his performance was so poor the commentators were saying it was "time for him to hang it up".

Yeah, he's 43 to be exact. The fight you are talking about was probably one of his UD losses to Chad Dawson. He is at Cruiser now and knocked out Danny Greene in his last fight. It may be worth watching, maybe not but it will at least hold me over until next weekend. I think Pavlick fights next Friday night on ESPN2 as well.
