Hey DGT...did you see Boobie Gibson and the attitude? Talk about out of the shadow...

you know what would be funny? If this team uncovers two or three starts...that have been saddled for a few years...

Hickson's a weird one...but the kid can play...

And if Sessions would stop flying all over the place like Rondo on crack...

                and remember this...

Moe Williams was on the bench...

good to see the Cavs fans out in force last night.

i still say the Cavs will be entertaining to watch. early wins will give them confidence, and the fans will rally behind them. and to kinda quote the great Lou Brown, maybe they can win enough games to give the media (especially ESPN) a nice big shitburger to eat!

Sometimes I really wonder about the mental faculties of the Cavs' owner Dan Gilbert. Instead of keeping his yap shut and allowing the team to attempt to win against the Celtics (which they did impressively), before the game he holds a press conference about Lebron James, to say he is done talking about...Lebron James.

Cavaliers owner says he's past scrutiny of LeBron, Heat

By Ira Winderman South Florida Sun Sentinel

PHILADELPHIA — LeBron James says he has moved on. So, now, apparently, has Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert.

There will be no further scrutiny into the machinations that delivered James to South Florida this summer, Gilbert told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. A member of the Miami Heat staff told the Sun Sentinel that the team is not aware of the pursuit of any investigation by the Cavaliers.

Following up a question-and-answer interview that appeared in Wednesday's editions of the Plain Dealer, Gilbert, in an email, put any lingering questions to rest.

"The best position to take on all of this is to focus all of our time and energy on the present and future success of the Cleveland Cavaliers, which we are more excited about than we ever have been," Gilbert wrote in the email posted on the newspaper's website.

"The environment today is extremely positive and the team first atmosphere is as productive and more conducive to the culture that produces long-term winning than at any previous time during our five-plus years in Cleveland. This franchise has moved on."

In the wake of signing James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh this summer, Miami Heat President Pat Riley stressed there had been no advance contact between the team and the free agents prior to the July 1 negotiating period.

The Cavaliers had looked into an investigation, but ultimately decided to move forward, having received a package of draft picks from the Heat in the sign-and-trade deal that formally ended their association with James.

In the immediate wake of James' move to the Heat, Gilbert issued an open letter that included a passage that read:

"The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma. Just watch."

A week later, Gilbert was fined $100,000 by NBA Commissioner David Stern.

Asked about the Heat's Dec. 2 visit to Quicken Loans Arena, Gilbert, in the question-and-answer interview in Wednesday's Plain Dealer, guaranteed a safe environment.

"We get a lot of emails, a lot of suggestions on the kinds of ideas and things that people would like to do," Gilbert said. "There's a lot of good ones, but a lot of them are something that the franchise couldn't or wouldn't endorse, just as being not consistent with what the NBA would want or probably what we would even want, too.

'Fans will express themselves. We will always have the best security possible as we always do. And I hope that Cleveland and the fans, you would hope that everybody keeps it to a certain level, because anything you do that crosses the line isn't going to look bad for anybody but the franchise and Cleveland."

it wasn't really a press conference, just an interview with the paper. not like all the local TV and radio guys were there. i think the email mentioned was sent after Gilbert was asked a question by the reporter, and he declined to answer the question until he sent the email.

Thanks for clearing that up. Seriously, the way the story was reported here by our local sports tv tools, you'd never know that. It goes with the irritating smugness offered by South Florida media outlets since James "took his talents to South Beach", and it truly has gotten old quickly.

here's the link to the article

Cavs owner reflects on his reaction to LeBron James' decision, the coaching and front-office changes and his expectations for the season.

the email response is a little further down in a separate section

Pojo said something about the team moving, but i don't see it happening. Gilbert got the rights to the Cleveland casino, and word is he wants to tie events at the Q into events at the casino.

pojo, I do think there will be a few gems uncovered now that they are forced to play team ball. plus, Ferry was so busy adding depth to the roster that there were some pretty good players last year (Gibson, Powe, Moon to an extent) who couldn't get any minutes.

Sessions might play better once Mo is back in there. I think Byron is committed to running two small guards (2 of the 3 - Sessions, Mo, and Boobie) at the same time. there will be nights where that hurts defensively, but it will allow the Cavs to constantly push the ball.

the biggest thing for this team is to not let the ball stop moving. it stopped an awful lot over the last 7 years.

they seem to need another scorer (although that need is not so glaring if JJ scores like he is showing signs of doing). I think they will get good offensive production out of the 3 guards, plus Jamison off the bench.

They definitely need a center (but you can say that about probably 25 of the 30 teams in the league)
