I have mixed feelings about this.

Nobody can deny that Geoff Tate is certainly a HUGE part of Queensryche, and the band isnt going to be the same without him, not at all.
Nobody can deny that Geoff Tate is certainly a HUGE Seattle-ite preppy wine connesseur egomaniac douchebag who utterly lost the plot years ago.

On the one hand, I'm glad to see Queensryche getting back to it's roots (and I think it'd be really telling if Chris DeGarmo found his way back in the next year or so), but on the other, it's stupid that Geoff pretty much made this inevitable by controlling 95% of the band between himself and his family.

I'm actually interested in what happens next with them, and that's the first time in years I've been even remotely interested in Queensryche, so that's a positive...but there's also a small part of me that's wondering if all this isn't an elaborate set-up for a big reunion in a few years, you know? And don't even get me started on Queensryche and elaborate set ups...it's not that hard to believe, you know...

I wonder about DeGarmo potentially returning to the fold as well. It'll be interesting to see. One thing's for sure: They're playing the tunes they'd rather play and the fans would rather hear again. That can't really be a bad thing...
