Ok , see the reason I ask is this , most concert venues in the uk are shit , look at the NEC... WANK... any big outdoor festival ....WANK , small to medium sized crapholes like CA Brum and Liverpool...I could go on.

Trouble is that these places put on shows that are basically second rate , the sound the view etc. I went to Airbourne at ca brum , never saw the band visually at all , went to Bonamassa at ca Liverpool ...rubbish venue, the NEC say no more.

Is it any wonder that some people get bladdered when they see what they've got for thier money , I know I have on more than one occasion.

I'll agree with that, most venues are shite. The CA Brum is a crap hole - unless you get in early and find a place on the ground floor you'll not see anything all night. Once you get that spot, and trip to the bar is a guarentee you'll never see it again. Saw Megadeth there about 18 months ago, I use the term 'saw' loosely........

There are exceptions though: The Manchester Apollo is a decent venue, as is the MEN (as far as arenas go)

The worst I've ever been to as a venue was O2 in London which is exactly like going to a gig in a shopping mall which will suit you.

Shopping malls are very easy to steward...

I saw Metallica there in September. I thought that the sound was great, as was the view. The place itself is a little clinical though, not a lot of character to it which I think is what you mean?

No problem with the sound and view but I've been in less clinical operating theatres than all the fake crap 'bars' and restaurants that are part of the complex.

I had a huge ranting post about a Prince gig at that place a couple of Summers ago but it's buried at DDLR at the moment.

Shit like that is to suit your company and it's convenience not the customer who is already paying twice as much as they did a few years back.

It's promoters and companies like yours that are stripping away a lot of the atmosphere out of venues and it won't be long now before it's exactly like going to the cinema.

No doubt there will be a backlash where the teenagers of 2015 will reinvent punk yet again in small clubs and so on and on but I think the bigger venues are slowly being fucked up. Saw Priest at Sheffield Arena on Friday. I haven't been there for 13 years, and what a shit hole. That being said, it does have a bit of a vibe for an arena......
