I seem to remember Sesh saying that he hated it when people called him "Scotch" (as opposed to Scottish or Scotland) because Scotch is a drink, not a person.

That would probably be a good comparison to the "Oriental" thing.

The majority of my genes are German (as is my last name) so I've been called a "kraut" on a few occasions. Personally I was never that offended, but it's really dumb to call someone pickled cabbage. It would be like calling a Korean person "kim chee".

Maybe not the WHOLE dictionady but "spokesperson", never using "men" as a default in a sentence, using a feminine adjective like "problematique" instead of a masculine word like "problem".

This can only happen when words have a gender (like in French)...

I was just thinking of the feminine form of "manhole." Just for shits and giggles, how about "manholee?" An extra "e" to make it feminine.

Since we don't pronounce the "e" at the end of a word, it won't work...

It's because we don't say China anymore. It's "The Republic of China" and the people that live there (or come from there) are to be called The people of the Republic of China...
Why exactly? I don't know. But for ex.; During the olympic games, our medias never said "Chinese" once.

The "E" at the end of a word is always mute, same with the "S" for plurial.
