I saw in a movie somewhere along the line that a teardrop signified a person you'd killed, which (to my way of thinking) is a waste. I believe it should stand for every time you got taken to the cleaners in a divorce. That way gold-digging women would instantly know you were a sap and more than likely broke, and men would view it as a sign of commiseration or respect.

Either way, it would go more toward humility and less toward outright showing off.

True. My ex girlfriend (high school sweetheart) got one on her ankle. I would have never wanted her to get a tattoo. But her younger brother had just died suddenly at age 15. As you can imagine, it was a very traumatic experience (we were only 19 when it happened). So she decided to get a small tat on her ankle in honor of her little brother. Tasteful & meaningful. Not something she would flaunt to other people as the ankle is a somewhat concealed spot. But something for her personally to make her feel closer to her brother.

So I guess it boils down to reasoning for a tattoo. Is it for yourself? Or is it for others to see? I think if it were only for the former, we would see a lot less ridiculous attention whore type tattoos.

Soooo...I wonder if Spike TV is going to do another season of "Jesse James Is A Dead Man", or if they consider the title a bit too redundant?

Well, all this talk aboot tattoos made me wanna post mine.

I'm really sorry that it shows more than it was intended, but not sorrier than the owner of the bar. You see, I wasn't wearing pants either.

It's just that I don't have many pictures of me, and this is the only one that shows my tattoos & there's not another person in the picture.

              So...

I have to thank my buddy Cato for confirming the meaning of the tattoos. I had done a web research for kanji symbols, but I don't really trust the internets & a good thing too, since he actually corrected some symbols that were not right.

Reason I done these tattoos is that I wanted to do something that was meaningful to me & at the same time looked cool. There's only a handful of people to whom I've told the meanings of the tattoos & they're good friends & ex-girlfriends. Like I always tell everybody else, if I wanted everyone to know, I'd've done 'em in English.

              Cheers! :bottle:

I see nothing wrong with anyone getting a tattoo as long as it is something THEY want.

Though some people go overboard. No way would I want to be seen in public with a woman who looked like that. I mean, some hidden tatts, or a very few that can be seen, I am fine with. It is going nutso like this Nazi bitch that I am not into.

Too bad for Sandra. I mean, fucking hell, it is bad enough when a marriage tanks without it being played out on the world stage. What a load of crap.

As a woman who many would consider heavily inked (though not even close to the extent of that skank) I hate to say that chicks like this one give some merit to the assumptions.

Not every tattooed girl is a whore, attention or otherwise. Trust me, if you think like that, I could give fuck all about you or your attention. Every one that I have is a piece of art that I put a lot of thought into before I got it. I'm an ink snob-no flash art to be found anywhere on me. I had the good sense to have them done where they are concealed, but I don't have to be in an intimate situation if I choose to show them. I am proud of them all, but they in no way define me, despite my siggy. I can be as dignified as the queen if I wish, yet it's not beyond me to call someone a twat if the need presents itself.

Look, I agree with you. And perhaps I'm so damned old that I've turned into my parents in some regard, but why is it that such a great percentage of the time if a young woman today feels the need to wear low cut jeans, it is because she has some dumb-assed Spiderman web above her asscrack to display?

I dunno about you, but me and my friends used to go get stickers to place on our notebooks, skateboards, guitars and bumpers. There was no merit in it, other than it was something everyone did. Now body-art is trendy, and there are even dumb as a box of rocks tv shows devoted to the drama of it all.

Look, maybe I'm out of the loop on this, but I think it's fucking stupid. "Hey, look what I got just above my ass..." is no brighter than "Hey, ya seen my bumper this afternoon?"

Yes, but Sparkie is saying that she doesn't do that.
