By the way, ammoniac is a chemical and out own body makes it. What about all the chemicals in our brain? Our bodies are pretty much made out of chemicals. Don't listen to Greg, Jesus Christ.

Here is a list of chemicals. You even have Magnesium there, and that is necessary for life.

There are many elements which Dad and I put on this planet, and which have a valid purpose for other things, but that does not mean they should be in food.

Arsenic is natural. So is lead. But that does not mean ye should eat them.

Of course. I wouldn't advise anybody to taste quicksilver. But Elvis "chemicals are bad for yuo" is a bit misleading.

Now I'm gonna go and inhale some Budesonide and Formoterol cause I can't breathe if I don't. It's a chemical that is saving my ass (life). And I didn't get asthma through food. My grandmother had it, my cousines have it, most people on my mothers side have it (in case elvis claims that it's food related). It's genetic for me.

                No it isn't...

You're probably gluten intolerant and so is your grandmother and your "cousines."

                Asthma isn't genetic...

                  Now that isn't entirely true.....

My dad had asthma as a kid, though oddly enough not as an adult. I'm not sure exactly how that works, but what I do know is that while I don't have asthmatic symptoms under normal conditions, I discovered when I was a kid that I couldn't ride my bike during extremely cold weather without a lot of difficulty, and I could never run for very far at all, regardless of the weather.

Also asthmatics are more likely to be allergic to bees, and that's definitely true in my case.

I don't know if I'll ever need an inhaler, and I hope to hell I don't. But I'm aware that I don't have the same lung capacity that I had as a kid.

And BTW, I don't have gluten issues, that I know of.

Yes it is. Combination of genetic and environmental factors usually.

Someone had to memorize the periodic chart in chemistry class too!

I am NOT gluten intolerant. You have NO idea what you are talking about Elvis, and that I am here trying to have some sort if rational discussion with you is actually saying more about me then it says about you.

Respiratory illness is the worst. A few years back I got so sick I barely could breath. I had to fight for every breath. I had to be put on a nebulizer and use an inhaler for awhile. It took six months to fully recover from it. You don't realize how much you take breathing for granted when you can't breath. I think about these people with emphysema and cringe. At least I could eventually get better and get back to normal. They can't. Nothing wrong with asthma medication. It saved my life. I would have died without it. The best feeling in the world was inhaling the shit out of that medication in that nebulizer and feeling my lungs open up again. Man. It was almost as good as sex.

I also ended up with chicken pox at age 36. That sucked. I was in bed for a whole month.

I don't know how a guy who claimed to be a nurse for over 20 years can get basic medical knowledge so horribly wrong.

What is good if you have asthma is to change climate a lot. When I first got it when I was about 6 or 7 the doctor said that asthma doesn't exist among people who live 2000 meters (or something like that, I don't remember the exact number) above the ocean level. This was in the 80's in eastern Europe, so I can't swear that that fact is correct.

My parents started traveling with me a lot after I was diagnosed, just to change climate. We'd go up in the mountains and then to the coast. And that did actually help.

If we'd only had known that it was gluten all along...
