Bug, I think most Americans, who think of Canada as the "Great White North" would be shocked to know that such a place as the BC "southern interior" - aka the Okanagan valley - actually exists.

But I've been there several times and I know better

Yeah, its nice, I would love to live there but not crazy about the winters out there, pretty harsh, although the winter here hasnt exactly been peachy either....Would love to live in Calgary, the people are 5 times more friendly, it was like culture shock compared to this shithole of Toronto....

Canadian militia did not burn Washington, it was British regulars.

I know it is always been the British identified as burning Buffalo, though it is possible some Canadian Militia under British command took part.

That burned which city? My history is general when it comes to Buffalo, and doesn't mention specific military formations. But I assume some Canuck Militia was invovled since we're so close.

However, no Canadians ever went near Washington circa 1813 unless they were British regulars.

I really don't think so hun'. I did a little internet research. The British freed up a large portion of their Army when the Napoleonic Wars ended and that's when they sent soldiers and marines (about 4500) to attack up and down the American coast and draw the U.S. Army away from Canada.
