I have always held a profound interest in African-Americans and their culture - my dad was a jazz musician, and I used to work for a jazz society. The folks I mentioned to Elvis I do so because they are the nicest people I have ever met in my life, and they were a very big part of my son's childhood.

I was curious because I know how well known those folks are on the jazz circuit, but not sure how well known they are in their own home town.
