Doesn't matter if you didn't vote for the man occupying the White House. Doesn't matter if you did and feel that you've been hoodwinked. Armchair politicians and apologists and complainers solve nothing. The question of what you can do for your country goes beyond paying taxes and/or having the attitude of "The government should fix this." No. WE should, step by tedious necessary step.

It's um...sort of oddly compelling - like watching a fatal car accident...

Yet, somehow I was able to draw myself away and plunge a screwdriver into my eardrums so I could never hear that shit again...

You're not reading "Catcher in the Rye" repeatedly whilst obsessively underlining key passages are you?

And was Abbie Hoffman "window dressing?"

                          Indeed.

The only way to correct the terrible ills of this world we live in is by posting thousands of inciteful solutions on a hasbeen balding rockstar fan website.

                          Well that's my theory anyhoo.

                          Cheers!

Don't get the Catcher reference...did Holden Caulfield or Mrk david Chapman use the term "window-dressing"?

And yes, Abbie was COMPLETE window-dressing, albeit highly entertaining. What did he really accomplish? A diversion, much like the nude protesters at the RNC convention in NYC in '04. Made a mockery of what he believed in. No, just reading the paper each day - and not a tabloid, but the NY Times or (the possibly late) The Wall St Journal, anything that is known for its reporting and integrity, where the past couple of days OJ wasn't on the front page. Community service, donating time and money to causes, whether its the arts or the neediest. Being informed comes first. What you choose to do with that information next.

I do all of that to varying degrees...

But ultimately, being informed comes down to making better voting choices.

And both Sesh and AP, don't ever underestimate the power of the "wind blowin'" and getting people to see things in a different light...

                                Just look at War...

And the "CITR" reference was a joke since not only Chapman read it, so did Hinckley. You had me worried...
