    Ah,,,

So US Corporations are now Socialist?

I thought you RePukes had a Free Market in mind, and share holders to answer to....

Amazing how socialist you all get when it's YOUR ass on the line.

If these 5,000 employees were returning a profit on their salaries and benefits, would Microsquish lay them off?

Maybe they deserve some PROTECTION. Should they unionize?

    God you crack me up.

            - which I paid for in cash.

Unlike some here who want their problem to become everyone's problem.

That's the Problem right there with Society in a nutshell=lack of accountability for one's actions!

All those losers who got loans they didn't qualify for in an adjustable - pushed the other, comp homes' values skyhigh - and pricing me out of that market so much I had to move into a cardboard box.

Well I think it's just a strategy move on their part. If it pans out Republicans won't get much credit for it anyway being the minority, and if it doesn't they can point fingers. It's true that they abandoned being fiscally responsible, but stuck to their guns on their social bs. Either way it's going through, I hope does some good, but I never really trust any politicians with money....

                    I'm kind of cuntfused...

The Bush 'stim'lus' didn't actually stimulate anything, why expect different results from the same approach?

Well this is a horribly conceived bill, as they all have been.

The stimulus really isn't any, in that it won't create jobs immediately, even though the crisis "is immediate", says the leader. As it was in October, when we had "till the weekend, before complete collapse". Well, those banks are still paying dividends (the ones higher up on the food chain) and collapse has not happened. More importantly, our very government who takes and gives our money away, refuses to give us even a basic accounting of where this money is and how it is being used.

Yet, none of you have questions of your administration about this? Do you know how and where this current "Distribution" (apparently it will happen every quarter going forward) will go specifically? Who will get the money and how many jobs this will actually create?

No, because nobody does. The Republicans, while Figs is right, will get the grandstanding benefit (the minority party always does), it also is right in principle in this case. This bill provides little actual relief, lots of pork and funds little in the way of actual actionable projects (90 Billion I believe out of the 800 something Bil).

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd need to be investigated for their roles in this housing crisis. They were at the wheel the entire time, not the Republicans. Yet, we all give them a free pass? WHY?

Couple of things wrong with this.

                          First $25 million / 5000 is $5000.

How long can you keep a M$ nerd employed for $5k?

Secondly I would rather be a recently unemployed M$ employee than be crippled with polio.

Please tell me how I'm wrong. The man is front and center in this for years and years. He fought tooth and nail to keep subprime mortgages flowing, he took donations from Freddie and Fannie (he was dating a high ranking exec in Freddie for several years). He insisted to Congress for years that "there were no systemic problems" with it and led the opposition in defeating reform measures by Republicans.

When it all fell down, it was the "decisions of the private sector" that caused this mess. The man needs to be in a jail cell, today.
