Until then its business as usual in DC. As for Kristy, you are probably right. On the topic of politics we probably would not agree on much, but my post was the truth and you Lounge, can't handle the truth.
It is impossible to compare federal spending while Bush was president with the current situation. We are now in a deep, deep recession brought on largely by decisions made during the Bush presidency and for which Obama bears little, if any, responsibility. Virtually ALL economic experts agree that in a time of deep recession, where the very existence of the American economy is at stake, the government MUST step in to stimulate the economy to prevent a total collapse.

The vast majority of current spending is out of economic necessity. What is Bush's excuse?

And let's not forget the fact that Chimpy didn't even include the Iraq/Afghanistan wars IN his budgets, so his spending was even more out of control than it officially appears to be on paper. And as a result, Obama's budget appears to be bigger because he DOES include the occupations.

Aside from the economic factors, of course.

Wonder on who's billing sheet this thread will appear :D

I just can't for the life of me understand why UltraVag thinks we all were struck with amnesia, and don't recall him defending the RePuke spending, and calling us America-Hating Libs for pointing out they were spending like drunken sailors for 6 years...

            too funny.

Sorry you were bored, maybe you should join Lounge's Basket Weaving class to pass the time. If that is not your cup of tea, try researching on how the current governments massive spending plan will lead us to a nasty problem that goes by the name of Hyperinflation. And I don't recall blaming Obama for the current mess we are in, but his methods to get us out will only further fuel the maelstrom of decay we are in. We are borrowing massive amounts of money from foreign countries, namely China and they are in turn building and strengthening their military with the interest we are paying on these loans. Does this "government step in" not bring you the slightest discomfort?

I'm fairly confident that I've done far more research on this subject than you have. What color is the sky in your world?

"Hyperinflation," as opposed to deflation? which was where we were heading...

And didn't Reagan's deficit spending to get the US out of the severe recession during the first two years of his presidency make you wet your panties every time you think of how great the Gipper was?
