you know, when I was doing some research on another topic,

I noticed:

• persons that were very fair haired, eyed, and skinned
  and
• persons that were very dark eyed,haired, and skinned

were generally separatist not supremest amongst those groups.

I noticed it first in the white sector while doing the research then did an informal study in the other sectors. very informal observation, there are always exceptions, however. I just haven't noticed any.

Funny that you mentioned this. I grew up in a Flatbush, Brooklyn, where it used to be a predominantly white neighborhood (Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond are from there), and everyday the number of white kids in my class declined until there were none. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but over the years as I've become, as you said, Standin, "sensitive about race" and observant of race relations, I wondered...

And in Bensonhurst, another neighborhood in Brooklyn, it was predominantly Italian up until the 80s when many Chinese families bought homes there and moved in. Some of the Italians moved out to New Jersey or Long Island. I read somewhere online where someone was talking about how the Chinese were supposedly taking over Bensonhurst, and the poster said that his uncle had to move to New Jersey because Bensonhurst was starting to smell like fried rice. Does this make any sense? He moved to the state considered "the armpit" of the country, and he's worried about the smell of fried rice. Whatever. Oh, no disrespect to RA members from NJ, OK?

Though I do love fried rice and wish I could cook it. I tell you what smells worse is white people and their boiled cabbage. I do eat cabbage, but dang it does smell.

Right, but bean sprouts and dried squid aren't what would be considered typical ingredients in US style "chow mein". My understanding is that it was westernized because they didn't think they could sell some of the authentic Chinese ingredients (dried squid for example) to western audiences.

Even today, you're more likely to find squid in a Korean restaurant than a Chinese restaurant around here. With maybe a couple of exceptions up in the International District in Seattle.

Or generally speaking, areas that are more culturally diverse also are more diverse when it comes to food choices. I can remember a time when this town had one pizza place, two burger joints (neither of which were a national chain) and maybe two or three really bland westernized "Chinese" restaurants where most people ordered "chop suey", "chow mein" or "egg foo yung". The spicier forms of Chinese food were unheard of then. Let alone Korean food, or Thai food, or a Mongolian grill.

Or a Mexican restaurant with more authenticity than Taco Bell, for that matter.

Thank GOD for cultural diversity if only for the food, let alone any other reasons!

I can eat kimchee with full knowledge of how it was traditionally made in Korea (essentially, bury it in the back yard for a while and let it ferment) but I gotta draw the line at the lutefisk (fish soaked in lye). That just doesn't work for me at all.

Asia definitely beats Europe in that category.

I have not had lutfish. I have had lots gator and to my amazement to this day coon. The coon was pretty good. Of course lots and lots of squirrel. I used to drive a 100 miles for pickled quail eggs. The weirdest prepared, I have had is rotted grapes, corn, malt and other assorted grains. :P

Anybody paying attention knew about this topic based on fact back in 1999. USA Today talked about 2 million mixed race kids back in June 1998. Britain was seeing the same fact back in 1990 when about 1/5 of all school kids were non-white. And by the way 40% of the black kids in that stat were single parent. Also predicted some time back was in 2090 Europe would have a non-white majority.
