I remember we were smoking pot at BYU and blowing smoke out the dorm window. We were on the ground floor and man did that bring in girls smelling the sweet cheeba smoke . There were these cute, rich girls from Southern California who's parents forced them to go to BYU and one night two of them climbed in our window at night and jumped into our beds. The underbelly of BYU is actually pretty wonderful. I had a good time there actually, but then after a year I was ready to get the hell out of there.

If you have freedom to think for yourself and marry who you want, that's a religion. If you have to do what the church leaders say no matter what, marry another member of the church on their terms, pay them money, have to sit in several interogation sessons a year with the bishop, and attend creepy and wierd temple rituals to keep your social satatus, that's a cult.

The Mormon church dictates that you marry another member of the church in their temple cerimony and forget about thinking for yourself. That could get you excommunicated. It's all about keeping the next generation in the cult and keeping them indoctrinated and brainwashed and the more kids the better for them. This is how a multi-generational cult keeps going.

A true religion discusses the scriptures but leaves the final decision making up to the membership. When a religion starts using peer/community/family pressure to extort you into participating in their program, the freedom of choice meets punishment and the freedom of choice ends. It creates an unhealthy atmosphere of backbiting, snitches, abuse, and hypocracy. If you never had this in your life, consider yourself lucky.

My wife's brother in law is an African American. His dad came from South Africa and is white. He loves to say he's African American and cries discrimination why he doesn't qualify for the affirmative action benefits.

Over 90% of the people I work with are black and most of them call themselves "african americans" when they dont even know in what direction Africa is. I have called them out on this many times and they agree with me. They know and agree that they are americans when you give them a bit of honest information...

When you said God wasn't racist I just pointed out a line from the book you say he wrote which is racist. He is basing the treatment of people on their race punishing people for 10 fucking generations for the actions of ancestors.
