The problem is that a US citizen was arrested and harassed. Not because there was any reason to suspect him of a crime, but merely because of the color of his skin and his ethnic heritage. That is racism, and that is now the "law" in Arizona.

Illegal immigration may well be an actual problem. Jan Brewer, Joe Arpaio, and that dumbass Repuke piece of shit in that video who voted for this bill and doesn't even know the fucking laws, they are NOT the solution.

i can't believe i'm "arguing" with satan, my mom would be so proud! :0 1. he wasn't arrested. 2. if he was illegal, and his story seemed "off" and (even tho he was born in this country 20 or more years ago and still can't speak english well), that may not be pushing the edge so much of being suspicious of his immigration status. 3. illegal immigration may well be an actual problem? that could be siggy worthy, if i could ever figure that out. 4. so the people that are doing things to enforce the law of the land are not part of the solution? who is doin' something else to solve the problem and send these people back where they belong legally?

Being born and raised in this country doesn't mean one has the command of the language of that of a university professor, unfortunately. It's so sad that so many people do not know the difference between "you and I" and "you and me." How many times I have heard people say, "Her and I will go (fill in activity)?" Her and I? And don't even get me started on people who can't write despite having been educated right here in America. What is "could/should/would OF?"

People love to yell, "Speak English! This is America!" No, you fucking learn English first. You can't even tell the difference between the homophones "your," "you're," "yours," your's," "there," "their," and "they're." So STFU.

Back to the topic at hand, so will the criteria for judging a suspected illegal immigrant be based upon one's command of the English language?

i took three years of spanish in high school, and have lived in az and used my version of "spanglish" for twelve years, i cannot grasp the verb tenses and all the inconsistencies either.

and certainly "poor english" would be a warning flag in some instances.

After watching that video I've got news for the people in AZ. In MA you HAVE to identify yourself when asked by law enforcement (and can be asked for no reason), and if you don't, they can arrest you just for that. it's a law here.....

There was a story on our local news after this with some Mexican Americans stating; "Now, many more of our people will come over into Utah." WTF? Like it's a threat?

Seriously, I have zero problem with this and I'm going on record telling you that many of the best people I know are from Mexico and the hardest working people as well. I consider myself lucky to be their friends. Most loyal people I know!!! With that being said, they're pissed about the protesting as well. Why? Cos, they're LEGAL hardworking citizens!!! Why should they go through all of the proper channels only to be fucked by peeps who refuse to play by the rules?
