I used to be a conservative, then I became disgusted with their obsession with Christianity and moral issues, and thought maybe that I was a libetarian

I then kinda came to a realization that I'm not really that either because I support forms of welfare, protecting the environment, peoples right to unionize and I believe that the US needs to have a "Canadian" Health care plan mixed in with the system we had prior to Obama care. (my mother would have been dead within a few months of her getting cancer had she lived in Canada, in America she was able to live 4-5 more years, though putting my family in debt. apologies for the sob story)

So I'm not really sure where I'm going to be at politically now. The more I hear these people talk, and the more I hear Obama talk it just seems to remind me how fucked we are. I mean you have people like Mitt Romney seriously listening to these fucktards like the National Orgnaization for Marriage a and signing stupid pledges about porn and shit THAT. DOES. NOT. MATTER. Yes, clearly PORN is the problem, no, no, not the failing economy, porn is what's wrong with america

And then you have Obama giving tax breaks to big biz. like GE, making him just as bad, if not worse than those that came before.

Just am tired of it. Tired of having to hear a bunch of bible waving nutjobs force down other peoples throats their ideas of morality and actually having people in places of power. Tired of having politicians bending over for whomever can write the biggest check for their campaign, and then passing laws that benefit of those same people while fucking over the people they're supposed to represent. This country deserves better.

CLINTON: This whole thing is a little confusing. The speech that the president gave to Congress -- you know, he didn't propose any new taxes -- I personally don't believe we ought to be raising taxes or cutting spending, either one, 'til we get this economy off the ground. This has been a dead, flat economy, and the -- you don't want in something this flat, if we cut government spending, which I would normally be inclined to do when the deficit's this big, with interest rates already near zero, you can't get the benefits out of it.

Why the economy is stalled is the government has failed to set a budget or create any sense of stability. When you can't make a five year plan you sit on your money and don't hire anyone. I want to know what my tax costs, utility costs, and insurance costs are going to be so I can make some projections. People fear huge increases in those.

Also, we bailed out companies and banks that should have failed. A lot of money has gone overseas. Our money. Also, the banks aren't loaning anything so the biggest employers (small businesses) are capital starved.

Also, there will be no real economy until we get our manufacturing back. We need to focus on quality. I think much of what we import is poor quality junk.

I have relatives in Alberta. If they needed serious medical care they would always come to the US. At the time my parents lived where there was an excellent country owned hospital. The prices were fair and the quality of care was excellent so a lot of my Canadian relatives would come down and go to that hospital. Sadly, the country sold the hospital to a for profit care organization and the prices went way up even though the hospital staff and facility is still good.

What people fail to realize is we did have government healthcare in the US. They were ran by the local governments. We just didn't have a big national program.
