Gee. Is that why my girlfriend over there and others in the reserve were required by law to always pack a loaded machine gun? You go nowhere without it and if you have to be reissued one because you lost it, you just got another mandatory two years of military service.

I don't know....maybe I'm a little biased having seen one of my little league teammates when I was a kid break down and cry when he told me how his Marine brother was killed during the hostage crisis. No shit....Israel is definitely not an innocent, can do no wrong entity but if it were you and I living there you damn well better believe we would want our government to protect us.Comment

To understand a situation you have to understand why the people involved are the way they are and what motivates them to do what they do. I read a book written by a guy who worked for French intelligence who was undercover in the Afghanistan training camps. This guy grew up in Morocco and lived with relatives in Europe. He said he lived in two worlds. The poverty and lack of freedom in Morocco and the freedom and western pleasures of Europe. He said he never fit in while in Europe. He got involved in some terrorist organizations because he wanted to impress his older muslim peers. Then they stole his money and he got pissed and ratted them out to French intelligence. He then got recruted to be a mole and infiltrated the camps.
He said in the Afghanistan camps he felt closer to his peers than ever. He said the camp leaders are so good at taking that feeling of not fitting in and making bonds with your fellow buddies. He said occasionally rich saudi nationals would come to the camps and fire some guns and play with the explosives then leave. He said most the money funding them was from Saudi Arabia but the saudis were spoiled and weak. Who do the grunt work were muslims from other countries.
He said his cover was so deep they pretty much even had him brainwashed. Then he learned it was just a bunch of rich fucks in Saudi Arabia using them as cannon fodder. He said everyone wants some revenge. The Chechnayans want revenge against the Russians ect... The lie is we will train you to get that revenge against those you hate but then at the end of the day, you go where you are told or you are threatened with death. He said when he saw there was no honor it snapped him out of his brainwashed mind.
In short everyone was using this guy. The French the terrorists sponsors. He said at the end of the day, the French paid better and it was really nice to stay at the Ritz Carlton and drink champaign and eat five star meals in Istanbul all paid for by the French after living in poverty and filth in the training camps.
In short, money and treating people better often is the turning point. A lot of these young muslims join terrorist groups to belong to a group that shows them some attention. It's really no different than why kids here join street gangs. They want to be someone important and have the brotherhood. The two least religious countries in the region were probably Iran and Iraq and that didn't work out too well.
Religion is a major weapon in the armory but the root cause is oil and our dependence on it. Any talk about our support of countries being based in any way ethically or about freedom or democracy or any of that shit is blatantly proved to be a crock by the continued alliance with Saudi Arabia and Israel, two of the worst regimes in the area.Comment
