Believe me. Food should be a lot cheaper than it is. Grow a garden yourself. See how cheap it is. One seed of corn grows one plant with several ears loaded with seeds. There was a farmer in Washington state that was running his tractors off of biodiesel he was making off of agricultural waste. The problem was the government found out. Went after him for not paying taxes on the fuel he was making and shut him down. Now he has to buy the expensive diesel at the pump.
They want energy expensive, they want food expensive, the people under assault more than anyone from the government right now is independent farms. The big boys like Monsanto have been trying to run them out of business worldwide. It's not just the US, this a global assault. There is an agenda. They want multinational corporations to own and control everything and they use stupid politicians who only care about themselves and the short-term buck to do their bidding.
We can support the world's population the thing is, it takes modern technology to do so and frankly the more nations modernize the less children they have. Actually in places like Japan and Europe, not having enough kids is a problem. China is modernizing their agriculture. In fact they are hiring people from Israel to come over and show them how to drip irrigate. Go to Israel and it's green and lush until you hit the border and then it goes back to desert. It's amazing what they can do with drip irrigation. Very little water there. It use to be the Galilee was the only place they could grow anything substantial but not now.
If anything, if you want to learn what can be done with very little resources and a lot of will power look at Israel. It's an amazingly creative place. It's no all bad. Maybe the faith is misguided but I asked one time over there how they did all this. The response is, this is the promised land and God said it was possible. I don't believe it was God, I just believe it was possible because they actually believed it could be done. Even fake faith can be a powerful thing. I think we mostly fail because we think we will.
It's just how you manage your resources. We kind of have to go back to maybe a more native way on thinking. Only take or use what we need. Sometimes you can even enjoy it more without using so much of it. Solving these kind of problems can actually be fun because it's a challenge with a purpose. This is how we need to start thinking.
