All religions are horrible. They do nothing but herd people into different ancient beliefs that do nothing but cause conflicts for the sake of who's more superior and righteous. Believing in a almighty that is the creator is one thing, but putting all your faith, even going so far as to get violent toward another person or people all in the name of a religious cult is just stupid.Comment

I actually hate groups and group think. One reason I like what this country was founded on is it allows the individual to pursue their own happiness. That's not saying you don't work with others or work as a team. Some things need a group to get them done but don't surrender your own mind and stop questioning things because it's not what the group wants. Organized religion has all the answers for you. Don't think, just follow. We should be thinking our asses off and not following anyone unless of course you need to node to organize around to achieve a particular goal. As the bumper sticker says, "Question Authority".No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

One of the best neighbors I ever had was a guy who grew up in Egypt and immigrated to the US. He always used to tell the kids in the neighborhood stop complaining you guys have no idea what you have here. He was a college professor and taught economics. He was a muslim. We were in Rotary Club together. When he gave the prayer at lunch he always closed in the name of Mohammed, Jesus, and Budda. It was different but people respected him and he didn't want to exclude anyone in that prayer.
I'm not a fan of Islam but I was taking this guy as an individual and the more I got to know him the more I trusted him because he demonstrated over and over he was a good person and cared about others. I could have just said ewww a muslim and avoided him and ignored him and missed out on a great friendship. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Making friends involves some risk. My heck if you were scared of every negative possibility that could happen. You would never make any friends, date, or have any social life at all. It's sometimes the closest people to us that stab us in the back. Those who have gone through divorce know this more than anyone. LOL! It's life. Live and learn. It's not perfect and never will be.
I've traveled enough to know in most cases, you will be fine. I'm amazed at how many places I have been and most the time, I never have had any trouble. People who are so full of paranoia of people who are different never go anywhere in life. They have small minds scared of their shadow. Most people just want something to eat, a place to sleep, some entertainment, a good fuck, and some friends to share it with. Pretty simple stuff. No! Religions aren't necessarily horrible, human nature is. Hinduism promotes poverty, caste system inequality, and bizarre-new ageist superstitions even beyond the typical religions elsewhere...Comment

Organized religion is shit, but there are good religious people who just need comfort and something to belive in. I know a woman who's son dies when he was 17. The belief in god is her way of coping, that there must be some bigger reason, that he is at a better place, that they will meet again and so on. Her faith has nothing to do with thieves in organized religion. And I'd never in a million years try to argue with her why god doesn't exist, what proof there are and so on. I am glad people who are desperate have something to cling on to.The heart is on the left. The blood is red.Comment

I really don't hate any religion if they don't cause trouble. You have to allow people the freedom to practice their beliefs or you don't have a free society. We have to be careful we don't fall into a which hunt trying to solve a problem and that's easy to do actually. Again defending freedom means defending the freedoms of the people you don't like. That's the real test of it.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

It depends on the particular sect. Christianity at it's base values is wonderful but you have people that set up these groups that become everything Christ said you shouldn't be. In a nutshell just treat everyone like you would like to be treated. That's all you need to know. You don't need the organization or the clergy.

Israel was smart. When Eisenhower told them to get the hell out of the sinai during the suez crises, Israel knew they had to set up a lobby organization in the US so powerful a US president couldn't become elected without it. So they set up AIPAC. Our political process has been infiltrated by more off shore money and influence than people know. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Once again I marvel at the little children who throw temper tantrums because that idiot Mohammed got insulted.
Christians at least have the maturity and intellect to NOT go apeshit when someone says Jebus was just a human being.
These Third-world Muslims are a) undeducated (for the most part) and b) completely immature.
"OOOOO.....someone insulted Mohammed...let's go kill some people! Even some people who are fellow Muslims!"
"OOOOO.....someone drew a picture of Mohammed....lets riot and destroy the city"
All the above means is they use Islam as a convenient crutch to get all worked up over nothing.
So some crazy man in the desert in the 6th-century decides to write about what HE thinks is "God".
All the undeducated Bedouin for some reason think he is somehow "holy".
Right. He was just a man. Nothing more.
I could write a series of books on what I think God is, and how people should live their fucking lives, and it would be just as valid (if not moreso) than anything Mohammed ever wrote while sitting in a tent scratching his ballsack.
It would be just as relevant as anything written by any stupid Christian fuckhead in the 1st or 2nd century, if not moreso.
GOD DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK IF YOU DRAW A PICTURE OF ANOTHER HUMAN.
MOHAMMED DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK IF SOMEONE DRAWS A PICTURE OF HIM BECAUSE HE IS A PILE OF DUSTY BONES SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, JUST LIKE THAT CHRIST IDIOT.
This is all a load of shit, perpetrated by a bunch of idiots. 1400 years of stupidity, in the case if Islam. 1700 years of idiocy in the case of Christianity. 3000 years of idiocy in the case of Judaism.
The statement that applies here is: "If there were no God it would be necessary for humans to create him".
At the very least, Christians, Jews and Muslims all worship the same God. It is quite obvious that the Jews and Christians at least are smart enough not to waste their energy rioting or murdering themselves or other people because someone thinks a dead pile of bones named Mohammed got insulted.
Fuck these stupid motherfuckers!Comment
