I like how the feds are into gun "control" when the ATF is running guns in Mexico and other places resulting in hundreds of people being mowed down.
Um, it was about six AK carbines, out of a total of 2000 purchase-stings, that got away. So, it wasn't hundreds. It was mainly a Border Patrolman, a U.S. citizen. Republicans can give a shit when Mexicans die. But it's so awesome everyone now believes a massive distortion of the truth based on partisan bullshit way out of proportion to what happened. The CIA and other agencies can fuck up and get people killed and break laws all day long, but the ATF gets special scrutiny...
That's obviously wrong. Common sense tells you that but It does make living in VA sound more fun.
How many weapons can a straw purchaser purchase at a time and from where do they purchase them?
It seems like it would be pretty easy to detect an individual buying tons of iron. The background checks should catch that
I don't know if it varies from state to state. But in the early 90's in Virgina, there was a college aged kid buying dozens at a crack for drug gangs in NYC (mostly)...
It is very true. Big Dope Brian was a "squid" Navy guy, and probably had very limited experience with long weapons in his time in as the typical seamen probably received little training on M-14 or M-16's back then.
While on overseas shore duty, I was assigned to the Office of the Provost Marshall...the base police force, ran by a Marine Colonel (think Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men) and composed of sailors and Marines. I was qualified on the .45, M-14, M-16, and combat pistol-grip shotgun with no stock. I carried a .45 on my hip, and had either the shotgun or M-16 in my patrol truck, everyday of my working life back then.
Unlike you, who fired a weapon a few times before beginning your regular duties...swabbing shitters.

That's what the dickheads at the NRA and their lackeys like BBB refuse to acknowledge, that these weapons need to be controlled like machine-guns have since 1934...
Why, when more people are killed or shot from a good old-fashioned six shooter? You want to control those also?

That that isn't the case in every state. Virgina, you just need a driver's license and you can walk out with an armory...
You've just reminded me of a big debate I got into with a guy from Virginia I met in Buenos Aires back in 2005.
This went into the early hours of the morning. He was a liberal on everything apart from gun control. He had been at a gun show the week before in VA where he had said he had been firing a vehicle mounted .50 calibre and nearly bought it...
Why, because people cherish the second amendment ??
Elvis, he wouldn't understand.
People in his country are under their government's thumb, both with guns and surveillance cameras on every corner. Then they have the audacity to talk about the US not being free.
