Ye assume that I was speaking of literal swords. But if this were true, then why did I tell Peter to put his sword away when the Romans came to arrest Me?
Why did I say that he who lives by the sword will die by the sword? Or the gun, in the case of thy modern weapons.
Verily I say unto thee, that the "sword" I was speaking of in the Scripture ye quoted, was a metaphorical sword of righteousness and it divided the truth of those who heard My message from the Pharisees and their followers who denied it.
Don't feel too bad about it though. Even back in the day, there were some among My followers who also misinterpreted Me and thought I was talking about taking up literal swords against the Romans. This is where Judas started to go wrong, actuallyComment

Adolphus Busch IV Resigns From NRA Board After Gun Control Defeat In Senate
Posted: 04/18/2013 7:17 pm EDT
WASHINGTON -- Adolphus Busch IV, heir to the Busch family brewing fortune, resigned his position on the board of the National Rifle Association on Thursday, writing in a letter to NRA President David Keene, "I fail to see how the NRA can disregard the overwhelming will of its members who see background checks as reasonable."
The resignation, first reported by KSDK, came a day after the Senate rejected a series of amendments to a gun control bill, including a bipartisan deal to expand background checks for gun sales. The NRA had vigorously opposed all those measures.
"The NRA I see today has undermined the values upon which it was established," wrote Busch, who also dropped his NRA membership. "Your current strategic focus clearly places priority on the needs of gun and ammunition manufacturers while disregarding the opinions of your 4 million individual members."
Reached for comment on Busch's resignation, NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam told The Huffington Post, "We disagree with his characterization, but we wish him all the best."
Busch joined the pro-gun organization in 1975 and has spoken before of his love of hunting. But the NRA has moved in a direction that Busch would not follow. "One only has to look at the makeup of the 75-member board of directors, dominated by manufacturing interests, to confirm my point. The NRA appears to have evolved into the lobby for gun and ammunition manufacturers rather than gun owners," he wrote.
A spokesman for the NRA did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Huffington Post.
Busch told Keene, "It disturbs me greatly to see this rigid new direction of the NRA." He singled out the gun lobby's reversal of its 1999 position in favor of universal background checks, as well as its opposition to an assault weapons ban and a ban on high-capacity magazines. "I am simply unable to comprehend how assault weapons and large capacity magazines have a role in your vision," he wrote.
"Was it not the NRA position to support background checks when Mr. LaPierre himself stated in 1999 that NRA saw checks as 'reasonable'?" Busch wrote, referring to NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre's testimony at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in the wake of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting.
At that time, LaPierre said the NRA believed that universal background checks were a "reasonable" choice. The group even took out ads in major newspapers that read, "We believe it's reasonable to provide for instant background checks at gun shows, just like gun stores and pawn shops."
One week after that hearing, LaPierre rolled out the same argument that he would use 14 years later to attack President Barack Obama's gun safety proposals -- namely, that until the government prosecutes more background check violations, there is no point in expanding them.Eternally Under the Authority of Satan

Police: Domestic dispute led to rampage that left 5 dead
By KOMO Staff Published: Apr 22, 2013 at 12:03 PM PDT Last Updated: Apr 22, 2013 at 4:24 PM PDT
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Police say one man went on a rampage after a domestic dispute and fatally shot four people before being killed by police on Sunday at an apartment complex in Federal Way.
At a news conference Monday, Federal Way Police Chief Brian Wilson said the shooting spree began about 9:30 p.m. when a man shot and killed his girlfriend in the unit where they lived together at Pinewood Apartments.
Law enforcement sources say 28-year-old Dennis Clark allegedly then went out into the parking lot where he confronted two other men and shot them both to death. Neither victim knew the gunman or his girlfriend, and one was shot in the back while trying to run away, officials said.
Wilson said Clark also used a shotgun to blast open the door and murder a 62-year-old man inside a neighboring apartment after the man who lived there yelled for someone to call 911.
Investigators believe Clark may have been trying to kill witnesses, according to Wilson.
Police officers raced to the scene and could hear shots still being fired as they arrived at the apartment complex.
Wilson said they confronted Clark, who was armed, in a stairwell and fired several shots at him, wounding him, but he ran off. Officers regrouped and found the now injured Clark a short distance away on the ground in the parking lot near where two of the other bodies were located.
As the officers approached, Clark reached for a handgun and refused the officers' orders to not grab the weapon, Wilson said. When he continued to reach for the gun, several officers opened fire, killing him.
"I just heard a couple gunshots going off and then all of a sudden it was like an automatic weapon going off. Bop- Bop- Bop- Bop- Bop- Bop- like a war going on over here," said resident John Hoffmeister.
Wilson said no officers were hurt, but it was not clear if Clark actually fired any shots at police.
Clark had a history of domestic disputes in Seattle and Federal Way, but they did not result in criminal charges and he had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon, according to Wilson.
Those previous domestic violence incidents did not involve the woman who was murdered on Sunday. Wilson said Clark was listed in internal police records with a caution note due to his history violence and tendency to carry weapons.
A total of eight officers fired their weapons during the confrontation on Sunday. All have been placed on administrative leave, per standard policy, as the investigation continues.
The names of Clark's 25-year-old girlfriend, and three other men who were killed, have not been released.
