The reason why Medicare/ciad is so shitty is that it has been so corrupted from the inside out and the numerous cases of fraud will be ongoing long after you relics are long dead. The system needs to be gutted. Take the profit motivation out of the equation for one. Truth is, we can afford to insure just about every American in this country with decent healthcare but refuse to do so because it's shitwits elected officials who use terms like "socialism" as scare tactics to keep it that way. I pay now $78/m for healthcare which went up 15% in the past two years. If my rates go any higher (along with renters and auto insurance) there is no way I can afford it. Free healthcare can and does work - providing you take the greed out of it and limit insurance companies power to interfere.
